Wow, applying some of my own advice to my own writing *really* makes a difference. I should do this all the time! 😂
Watching a bunch of "how to hem your own pants" tutorials on YouTube and maybe the best advice so far: "If anyone is looking that closely at your hem, you don't need them in your life."

It's strange having client docs work that's *not* open source, so I don't know how public to be. 😅
But, if you happen to know whose docs I'm helping... just published a batch of small but strategic sidebar nav & onboarding changes to usher in the weekend that (I think) make a HUGE difference. 💪

OK, not the *main* story of the day... but, the v6 major upgrade guide (and several brand new or revamped docs) was a BIG part of Team Docs life for months.
A lot of us worked on it. I hope it works for you when you upgrade! (And if it doesn't... well, that's just an opportunity to contribute yourself!)
🎨 As we're getting closer to the release of Astro v6, @astro@m.webtoo.ls and Starlight core maintainer Hideoo takes us on a trip down memory lane... with a new Starlight theme which is heavily inspired by the timeless design of the legacy Astro documentation.
(For the record, this is the only Astro Docs theme I recognize. Purple and orange, or it didn't happen.)
I had LONG given up hope of having any hits on my "Sony RX10V" search/alert, but yet, here we are.
(When you buy a whole bowling alley, WHAT'S ONE LITTLE NEW BIRDING CAMERA in comparison, right??)
First robin sighting of the year in the backyard! (We do have year-round robins, but they tend to be sneakier in winter and are more in the forest than backyards.)
I, also, have been sneakier this winter and exploring some big life changes... so, taking this as a sign of avian solidarity! 🐦⬛
I haven't made the time yet to write about contributing *a cappella* to open source, but at least I now have another example to use when advocating for the opportunities for and importance of contributions beyond code!
(Should open source projects have *jingles*??)
It's Global Big (bird) Day! An excuse to go hang out in one of my favourite spots before the baseball game. (And, no day is complete without some blue jays!)

@PolyWolf Awww, that's so kind of you to say! Certainly, getting to know awesome community members like you was a huge perk of the work. It's easy to put in the effort when you feel like it's actually helping people. We don't always get that feedback, but seeing the same faces over and over again can be a clue... On to the next era!

@gabesalkin Yay, a new Astro blog! We are *that* close... using the most recent beta version (with v6 preview docs: https://v6.docs.astro.build ) is the way to get started now. (And, it's quite safe to do so; just keep updating as we squash more bugs!) I wouldn't start brand new on v5 right now, so try the beta or wait would be my personal recommendation!
In the last 3 weeks we've had *18* "help wanted" issues in the docs repo closed by community-submitted PRs, & it feels pretty darn sweet!

There's way too much streaming, in way too many time zones, to keep track of today! #ATmosphereConf is 4hr diff, our provincial youth bowlers at nationals (Joe is coaching!) 3 hr diff, and Blue Jays 1h, had to carefully map out my day from multiple schedules, all written in a diff, & not my, time.
