Sami Kelsh is a tired bear
Artist, streamer, writer, lover of pirates and vampires, immigrant, baker, tired. She or they x
It’s the Boorista’s favourite time of the year, and it’s mine too: there’s something about the shortening days and the cooling air and the fact that I can drink a hot filter coffee without getting all sweaty that feels so special right now, so I decided to make a little bookmark of this ghost barista with some of their favourite coffee making accoutrements. They love a well-drawn espresso, of course, but there’s something special about the quiet, meditative ritual of hand-pouring through a drip filter.
This lil autumn coffee enjoyer is now a bookmark, so of you’re a lover of coffee and pleasantly ghostly things, or know someone who is, you can get your hands on one of these bad boys for yourself! What’s your favourite way to make coffee at home?
🍂🍁🧡THE SEPTEMBER SHOP UPDATE HAS LANDED🧡 🍁🍂
There are shiny new prints and bookmarks and (for the very first time) 📚bookplate stickers📚
I’ve worked really hard on these and I really hope you like them!

Anyway, here’s a pink robin just out here living his best life. This absolute lil creature hails from the forests of southeastern Australia, is about 5 and a half inches long, and enjoys snacking on various yummy bugs. What an absolute friend!
Happy Star Trek Day, everyone! Here’s a little ink portrait of Captain Janeway and her one true love, a damn fine cup of coffee.
I know I painted this in the most internet-unfriendly aspect ratio, but have you SEEN some of the architecture in Amsterdam? It’s long and thin, and therefore so is this artwork! These two lil guys are having a lovely visit. Maybe our intrepid cyclist has been to the market and he’s returned with a couple gevulde koek (my favourite) and some extra oud cheese. They love each other very much.
let’s get autumnal! i’m painting a ghost barista in a book filled coffee shop, because of course I am.
Historians would say they were very good friends. They never married, instead choosing to live together in their comfortable cottage on the hill between the sleepy town and the enchanted forest. They were known to be keen cyclists, and loved going on adventures together - and sometimes, just having a picnic on the violet-studded hillside by their home. Their letters to each other were unusually romantic, and sometimes quite passionately so, even for such close friends. What a wonderful life. Love that for them. 🩷🧡💜
i think i might have to do a big boss fight soon and i’m nervous in SILKSONG
at last, it’s time to actually beat this darn sandwich fight in SILKSONG
I’m painting the same painting four times to see how different paper changes your painting, for science

I’m painting some robins and I’d love a bit of cozy company! come learn about birds with me!
It’s been too long since I painted these Victorian hamsters, whom historians no doubt believe must be “very good friends.”
*whispers* 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
I wonder what spirited 19th century adventures they’ll get up to next? These two pieces are prints you can get - though I’ll be on hiatus for a good chunk of May after next week, so hit up the ☕️ of you want anything before then!

Get a load of the eyebrows on this sweet little collared bush robin! This very special friend likes hanging out amongst the greenery in Taiwan, and is a very handsome fellow indeed.
I’m still making my way through my curated list of Robin Species I Would Like To Paint, so expect more robins where this lip guy came from (as in my studio, not geographical habitat distribution, because there are many different robins across a bunch of continents)
It’s a beautiful Friday morning and I have no idea what kind of shenanigans we’ll get up to in SILKSONG, but I’m sure it will be fun!
today is autumn day for #repostyourart month, so here's a cozy little number from a few years ago, because soft werepire romance is a perennial interest as far as i'm concerned, no matter the time of year

Happy Autism Month! I’m going to celebrate by drawing so much fanart of specific star trek characters for some reason
