It works but WindowServer no longer lets you set geometry for windows you don’t own, so there’s some fakery going on.

I didn’t know a feature existed that, if you long tap a folder with notifications on iOS 26, it’ll show which apps have notifications in the folder in the popup menu.

I think the last time anything to do with the DVD Player was updated was when I discovered a security issue in the way the framework worked…
Edit: It saved an unsigned binary to a temp folder and then blindly loaded it into the application using the DVD framework.

One major problem with antidepressants is that they can take up to 6 weeks for any positive result to be seen (negative side effects can show up the first day or within 2-3 days).

Tried using Fable 5 to see if it could handle a SwiftData NULL relationship issue I’ve been having for a year. It first did a bunch of things that could *not* work in SwiftData (inserting objects into the model at init time), then reverted all those changes when it couldn’t work.
Burned through over half my monthly credits…

@rmondello What gets me is people incorrectly calling this type of fingerprinting “illegal”. It’s just standard, sadly obvious, fingerprinting from a web page.
The same is true for iOS and Android apps, people are always being fingerprinted. It’s not illegal. And depending on how the fingerprint is being used, it lives in a gray area.

I remember how, back when Apple was using Intel processors, Apple wouldn’t enable some security features either because they weren’t available on all SKUs Apple used, they where buggy as hell outside Windows, or the security they promised just wasn’t there.
This is probably not a subtoot…

@bgrinter @rmondello Safari has extensions and those can be detected as well and used in fingerprinting from a website asking for certain resources that an extension injects into a page.
If you’re developing an iOS app and see a few users running a version of iOS that’s a few years old, is it ok to just ask those users why they stick to that version? (After making sure their model ID can actually run newer versions of iOS, of course)

@tba Setting the relationship itself is using an astounding amount of disk I/O. I don’t explicitly save when repairing relationships.
Say I have a currentPath, a parentPath, and a parent relationship. If parent is NULL, I search for the 1 item whose currentPath is equal to the current object’s parentPath, then set that as the relationship. Then do the same for the next NULL.
When I have enough rows/objects, this can use much disk I/O seemingly saving temp files. I’ll run instruments next time.
