Spent a very pleasant couple of hours in a field watching the sun get devoured
Made some smol friends today
Took Poppy to the vet this morning for her regular checkup.
She tolerated the Great Betrayal (revealing that pretending-to-be-boots wasn't a foolproof disguise), was very well behaved for her tests, and is now walking round the house chirping indignantly 😅
I'm told it's the last day of #MothWeek, which is excellent timing since I've just added my photo of this beautiful Hummingbird Hawk Moth to my print store:

@kestral@masto.hackers.town That is so sweet!
We gave our cat a "Music" button on her comms board, and she regularly uses it either to ask me to play the piano for her, or for us to put something on the speaker ("Music" "Box") 😅

@kestral@masto.hackers.town I think it very much depends on the cat and their interest to learn. I think some older cats could take to it, but some cats just aren't interested at any age :D
We started Poppy when she was a couple of years old, and it took maybe 18 months of daily practice before she was comfortable using the buttons to ask for things.
I wrote a thing a couple of years back about our experiences of the process, but also happy to answer any questions: https://www.robhainescreative.space/blog/in-the-spirit-of-communication/
Taking some time this afternoon to run some test prints on new photos to go up on my store, and realised how much I've learned about the process since buying a decent printer earlier this year.
So join me in a thread as I go through my process:
