@tekhne @Tutanota @delta we should not use the word 'alternative' and should use 'replacement' instead. 'Alternative' acknowledges the reasonability of its existence. WhatsApp is unjust and should not exist.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Vivaldi is the fucking proprietary malware that is unethical and unjust, and should be boycotted and should never be used.

@Tutanota @noybeu So the only thing we should do is to boycott WhatsApp and switch to XMPP, @matrix or @delta .

@oneloop@mastodon.xyz @andree4live@mastodontech.de @Tutanota@mastodon.social Currently this is the situation actually, but GrapheneOS has been already trying to change it, by cooperating with an OEM to produce a GrapheneOS-ready phone as an alternative to Pixels.

@andree4live@mastodontech.de @oneloop@mastodon.xyz @Tutanota@mastodon.social AOSP is a free software project. It's developed by Google but not owned by Google. Everyone can use, study and modify that free software. LineageOS, GrapheneOS, Replicant and other libre software Android distributions exists.

@andree4live@mastodontech.de @oneloop@mastodon.xyz @Tutanota@mastodon.social For Google Android, Google is the controller. But for the AOSP, Google is just a major contributor. What Google have done is just contributing parts of code from Google Android to the AOSP. Even Google no longer contribute that code, we, the community, is still able to maintain the legacy AOSP and get it continued by the free software community.
