We still think it's good to know that you have the option to synchronize any actor, no matter how it was designed. @pointfreeco Looking forward to your discussion of actor reentrancy next week! 👀 😀
Open post Ray Fix @rayfix@mastodon.social · 5mo ago Replying to @pointfreeco@hachyderm.io <p>Many folks avoid actors due to a proliferation of “awaits” that can introduce subtle race conditions as multiple threads can interleave and access the actor’s data.</p><p>But did you know you can squash many “awaits” down to a single one, eliminating race conditions in the process?</p> @pointfreeco Great episode. ✨🙏 This feels analogous to doing a guard let rather than unwrapping the same value over and over. Good pitch material for the standard library.
