so now the ACM are creating AI podcasts about conference sessions, which, in addition to flooding the digital library with slop, is also botting citations (1,699 for a conference held 2 weeks ago). good to know ACM is using our astronomical registration fees wisely.

@koronkebitch beautifully put. it's so easy for students to shortcut and ask the bot, robbing themselves (and us) of real connection and dialogue. it's alienating and dehumanising, but it's the path of least (initial) resistance, so it's the one many students choose

@koronkebitch well i failed to get anyone to sign up for a full haskell interlude interview in singapore so instead i just took some microphones to popl and interviewed loads of people on the spot. wayyyy more fun and i got to talk to people about so many different things. it'll hopefully represent a nice slice of conference life. I've got ~3 hours of raw audio to work through but I'll hopefully have part 1 done soon🤞
