My PiStormed Amiga 600 needs a new keyboard badly... A project has been started.

My Amiga 600 has now a few more graphics modes. And 1.8 GB of really fast RAM.

Once upon a time I have created KA71, a headphone amplifier for Amiga with adjustable channel mixing. Now I have a plan to create its successor #KA72, fixing flaws and adding new features. I have started from the power supply block. USB micro-B power socket has been replaced with standard C one. 3 NiMH AAA cells are replaced with one 18650 Li-ion. Integrated charging circuit has been added. I had to change the chip driving DC/DC converter. Prototype PCB for the block has been ordered today.

My adventures with writing C++ programs for Amiga without the standard library. Overhead of empty apllication has been reduced below 0.5 kB.

KA59 keyboards can have any language layout.

Keycaps arrived from printing. A few more KA59 keyboards will be ready soon.

Nothing happens today. Just some boring assembly work.

Hand soldering these PCMCIA connectors requires some patience and skill. This is a part of KA37 angle PCMCIA adapter. Covered with flux at the moment, but an ultrasonic cleaner will take care of it, after final assembly. Just soldered a batch of them.

QoaPlay 0.8 released on Aminet. QoaPlay is a command-line player for Quite OK Audio files.

Changes in this version: fixed playback of stereo files in frequency halving mode.

I always wanted to have a stack based programming language on Amiga, where AmigaOS API functions are just operators of the language. With a fast compiler. Then I have created one. Bzted 0.1 is released.

I have finished a first working version of QOA player for Amiga – QoaPlay 0.6. In short: lossy compressed files (5:1 compression) play on 68030@25 MHz (44.1 kHz stereo). My humble 68020@28 manages 44.1 mono or 22.05 stereo, but with some improvements in the code it should be able to join the club.

Tym razem nietypowy wpis po polsku. W ramach porządków, do oddania mam kilka książek opisujących oprogramowanie komputera Odra 1204, broszury na temat terminala Mera 9150 oraz instrukcję drukarki Mera D-100. Nie mam pojęcia czy to jakieś unikaty czy rzecz ogólnie dostępna. Stan dobry i bardzo dobry, jak na 50-letnie książki.

What do I do on the software side now? I plan to release GCCPack 0.4 soon, (containing also C++ compiler), but to do this I have to regenerate all the system API inlines. The problem is C++ compiler doesn't support placing function arguments in fixed CPU registers. Older style approach, placing local variables in fixed registers, has to be used.

'fd2pragma' with SPECIAL 41 option almost does this, but well. Almost. It does not use 'static inline' for API calls. I write my own 'sfd2inline' then.

Increased stock of KA47 IDE adapters a bit today.

#KA72 amplifier – the charger part of the PSU works. The next step is USB/battery switcher, then DC/DC converter. However, the right side of the PCB may be left unpopulated, as I consider to use a dual converter and symmetric power supply for all the blocks.

My T12 soldering station lost some of its self-adhesive rubber feet. Let's print something more robust, it will be fixed with two screws. Of course I need to print two such items.

Synchronising a few projects in different development stages is challenging. I have a set of PCBs for KA56 keyboard in the PCB factory basket already. But I wait for updated version od KA02 PCBs (new PCMCIA sockets and plugs) so if there are any fixes to be made I will order new versions together. I also wait for KA72 amplifier prototype power section PCB. Monday is going to be a busy day...

@riker77@social.r0r1.de It is much too early. I have not decided yet if it will be a product of RastPort or just a single piece for my A600. Except of known aeberbach project, another competitor will probably enter the market before I manage to complete KA56.

KA56 will retain KA59 features (Amiga-Alt remapper, adjustable color of capslock LED, two extra keys, customized keycap sets possible), but A600 „market” is smaller than A1200 one.
