Wenn ich ein:e freiberufliche Übersetzer:in suchen würde mit folgenden Parametern:

- Englisch→Deutsch
- Anwendungshandbuch einer Software
- Gesamtumfang derzeit 40 Artikel viele <1500 Wörter, manche >3500 Wörter, wird schon ein paar Wochen Arbeitszeit brauchen

@fasnix @pretix Kann ich gut verstehen, ginge mir sicher genauso. Genaues Feedback zu den Bewerbungen ist bei der Menge leider einfach zu aufwändig und auch schwierig, wenn alles gut ist, aber halt x andere Bewerber noch stärker passten. Und es rät einem halt auch leider jeder Jurist davon ab, man macht sich nur angreifbar, selbst wenn man versucht, alles richtig zu machen :(

@nan0@chaos.social Wir hatten lange nur unseren Community-interaction-Account und haben inzwischen auf Wunsch einen zweiten, der quasi unseren LinkedIn/Instagram-Feed spiegelt, damit niemand das Gefühl hat, was nicht konsumieren zu dürfen, weil er kein Insta hat.

@nan0@chaos.social Ja, weil wenn wir wollen, dass Leute nicht deswegen auf anderen Plattformen bleiben, weil sie sonst News bestimmter Unternehmen verpassen, müssen wir das ja gutheißen, selbst wenn sie hier nur den gleichen Content abliefern wie anderswo. Dank fehlendem Algorithmus muss es ja niemand sehen, der es nicht sehen will.

@eest9 @pretix Wäre mir auch sehr neu, dass das rechtlich kaum einen Unterschied macht, das ist arbeits- und sozialversicherungsrechtlich ein riesiger Rattenschwanz und im worst case begründet die Firma damit noch in einem weiteren Land eine Betriebsstätte und ist gewerbesteuerpflichtig etc. Wäre schön, wenn die EU das gelöst hätte, ist aber nicht so.

@wortfechterin @fasnix @pretix Wir haben auch mindestens zwei großartige Kolleg:innen, bei denen es erst beim zweiten oder dritten Mal geklappt hat. Nicht, weil sie beim ersten Mal nicht auch schon toll waren, sondern weil sich Lebensumstände, Anforderungen im Unternehmen, oder einfach der restliche Bewerberpool verändert haben :)

@fasnix @pretix Das kann ich verstehen und will dir da gar nicht reinreden. Aber als Kontext: Auf die Support-Stellen letztes Jahr hatten wir knapp 100 Bewerbungen, auf die dieses Jahr nicht ganz, aber immernoch sehr viele. Wir meinen das also ernst, wenn wir sagen, dass eine Ablehnung nicht heißt, dass wir dich doof finden – wir können nunmal leider nicht alle bezahlen und müssen auf Nuancen-Ebene sieben. Wie das bei dieser Stelle laufen wird: Kein Plan, sowas haben wir noch nie ausgeschrieben.

@scy@chaos.social I use a lot of trains these days across three countries, one of which has a higher (subjectively perceived) mask rate (Italy) than Germany, and one that has an even lower one (Switzerland). I have not subjectively noticed a gender inequality in the mask wearers. In Italy, I feel old people tend to wear masks on public transport more often than young people.

@mahryekuh At non-tech conferences (think, doctor's conferences, business conferences, etc) it's standard that you send in the slides days before and the tech team of the event plays the slides from their computer. Tech conferences are usually the only ones that allow speakers to fiddle with their own laptop and HDMI port. If the conference is run by a team not used to tech conferences, this could also be a reason.

@jacob@social.jacobian.org But aren't we then just shifting all the complexity, skill requirement and quality concerns to the business logic specification language, which will maybe be less verbose than code, but certainly not easier to reason about and write perfect specifications in? The maintenance burden of software isn't just high because there's a bug in that manually-written for loop, it's mostly because requirements weren't clear enough or change.

Going from "instructions" to "specifications that can be proven to be implemented" will be a useful abstraction, but writing specifications that are not only sufficiently detailed to prove the code but also prove the *right* thing feels like it's going to be harder than coding and prompting combined, because it combines the hard skills of both. (Still, the end result could be better, not denying that!)
