In another episode of China Already Won The AI Race: HuggingFace try to use some US frontier model to investigate a hack, gets stuck in the guardrail/stupidity and turn to GLM5.2 in their own infra to do the job

Hugging Face hacked: Turned to Chinese LLM for help after US models blocked Blue Team

Expensive, proprietary US models were no help to Hugging Face’s defenders, and free Chinese ones were; that’s a warning sign.

The AI Great Leap Forward and Its Failure Modes

Calibre, the classical eBook management app, is a very reliable piece of software but also has an _horrible_ UX (although cute at the same time).

I went to investigate its core feature (transfer eBooks to different eReaders devices) and… it is basically something glued with bubblegum and people’s time to hack the devices.

It’s impressive how all the work for something that should be simple (it’s my device, therefore I own it to do whatever I want) needs a whole reverse engineering made by strangers on the internet.

The city routine: three cleaning workers that stop by for a coffee, talk a little then each one drop their heads for a quick doom scroll on their phones before having to go back to work.

I just doesn’t understand why the fuck “far-left” people keep using X, even less that you want to keep anonymous and use their verification system.

You are just addicted to likes and trolling.

Android Studio update: go to website, scroll this T&C text, accept it, download.

Why mobile development has to be so fucked up?

RE: @lcamtuf@infosec.exchange

The one about cannabis you can clearly see the author under influence of it and just randomly throwing AI letters right in the middle of the cover. Amazing marketing.
