Assertion 1: Underwear is clothing worn against the skin beneath outer garments to reduce friction between skin and outerwear and protect them from bodily secretions.
Assertion 2: The bright yellow wattle of the male Australian scrub or brush turkey, which grows larger and brighter during the breeding season, is a display structure associated with the species' sexual reproduction.
Conclusion: Given the aforementioned facts, these socks count as "sexy underwear".
A rarely discussed perk of continuing to wear a mask on trains is how much more often I get an entire seat to myself, even in peak hour.
Queensland's LNP Government is about to legalise the high-power electric motorbikes that killed 8-year-old Zeke Hondow, make a bunch of low-power peddle-assist bikes that cannot exceed the speeds of ordinary cyclists illegal, and kick the remaining low-power bikes off cycleways designed to accomodate the speeds at which they operate and into traffic. Thirteen cyclists were killed by cars last year, pushing the road toll to a 15-year-high. They're calling this safety.
Some people like working from home, some people like being in the office, but really working from the park is the best.
@specter@eattherich.club @TashTaylor@sauropods.win It's a scapegoating exercise on a small population that a lot of people reflexively hate on, of course they'll enforece it. They'll wanna show the public they're "doing something". Unlike the already-existing 10kph speed limit in all carparks, which is so routinely ignored that drivers get angry if you abide by it. I'm a trans woman, I can recognise a bullshit "public safety" crack down when I see one.
@specter@eattherich.club @TashTaylor@sauropods.win 25kph, not mph. Kilometres, not miles. That translates to 15mph. Regular non-electric cyclists exceed that often.
I have a vague memory of a book I loved as a kid. It was about a family who visited a rainforest, possibly on an island, in North Queensland, and the pictures were photos with mysterious, partially transparent dinosaurs, that possibly changed visiblity depending on the angle you look at it? No idea what it was called or even if it's a real memory. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please tell me the title!
Those fake spiderwebs are bad for our non-human friends!
@specter@eattherich.club @TashTaylor@sauropods.win In this case they are taking away the ability for people to live car-free. I've never owned a car because I have a safe, 250w e-bike with a peddle-assist cut-off of 25kph, in compliance with the law. Like I have for nearly twenty years. Only accident I ever had was a car hitting me from behind because "the sun was in his eyes". I couldn't walk for weeks or exercise for months. Now I'm gonna have to go on a 100kph motorway with thousands of cars to get to any major location.
@specter@eattherich.club @TashTaylor@sauropods.win I'm fine with 25kph/15mph being the cut-off for peddle-assist, it's been that way for years. That's basically average speed for a regular cyclist, some go faster, some go slower. It's average. Helping you reach average seems reasonable. You still need to peddle to reach that, we're talking 250w motors here. But the motor cuts out at 25kph/15mph.
Who at #Samsung thought it was a good idea for #autocorrect to change words after I've pressed enter? What a terrible terrible idea.
