And Lovelace who built the mathematics underpinning the generalization of computer logic, effectively building assembler as a conceptual model ( since she didn't have real functioning machines of note to work with), the base structures of data encoding. @Oggie@woof.group @GhostOnTheHalfShell@masto.ai @jackielovescompchem32@scicomm.xyz and Radia Perlman, spanning tree protocol

He isn’t WORTH a trillion dollars. If something happened to him, we wouldn’t pay a trillion dollars to get another one. @maxleibman@beige.party it's all monopoly money until you find somebody willing to buy it at that price.

Can’t say Cisco iOS does. @jb @syllopsium @gwenhael @felix I might be wrong, it's been a while, but I think it were Alcatel Omni switches.

You don't have to learn it properly if you don't want, but learning very basic editing means you know you can edit anything even on a broken Unix system or a slow serial link (although if it's too broken for cursor addressing use of Ed is necessary) @syllopsium @jb @gwenhael @felix it's truly almost everwhere. Some time ago I found (and used) vi on *network switches*.
