Pay Equity It’s a simple enough concept. One that you would think would fit with the kiwi approach to life. One that would have allowed 130,000 working families better cope with the cost of living crisis. But then, just as the first of the 33 cases were finally to be resolved, this government torpedo’ed everything. They feared the backlash so much that when they were planning this they just called it ‘Project 10’. All papers were distributed by hand to prevent them ‘falling into the wrong hands’ i.e. ours. Like so many other important matters they also forced it though under urgency to prevent debate. Did none of them think “if we’re acting like this maybe this isn’t right”? Just remember that when you go to the polling booths later this year, and remind others as well. #NZPol #PayEquity

It was a difficult theme this week for #JukeboxFridayNight#PersonalPlaylist I have a high churn for favourites as I’m always on the lookout for new bands. I also have a million different memories associated to different songs/bands. However there is one band that has endured. #TheCure. First saw them live at Glastonbury and was wow’d. They were the first band I took my daughter to see live (Auckland 2016), starting her shared love of live music. And of all the songs The Forest is still my favourite, I’ve even used it as a soundtrack for this video. The Cure A Forest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqj71phqiQg

I mentioned a few days ago about a friend who had recently died. When we first met he was obsessed with The Sugarcubes and their tapes were playing pretty much constantly where we lived. So though there are lot of music to choose from for this weeks subject it has to be this: The Sugarcubes Birthday (Icelandic) #AWiderWorld#JukeboxFridayNight Squirgly blee blee mate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6hGc7S8d88
