i am still open for #commissions!! here's some more b+w client work from over the years. all #penandink with digital color, #noai, ever.

last time i published a book was 2020 so for those of you unaware: this is what BLACKWORK publications usually look like. i named the imprint that for a reason: harsh black and white, hard contrast, single spot color at best.
(pardon my old name on some of these covers here)
friendly reminders for pride month:
* there's no "correct way" to be queer or trans
* anyone who tells you otherwise is a sucker or a fascist
* if someone tells you who they are, listen and care
* if a fellow queer falls down, pick them back up
* if a nazi falls keep them on the fucking ground

the hard edges, insistence upon dirty lines and harsh panel borders, and obnoxiously heavy Symbolist nods were more or less a signature of mine, and still are to a degree.
i am very proudly the Section 8 neighborhood's answer to Arthur Rackham and Charles Burns

took a break from the grind and visited my mom (the Mississippi River) the other day
if anyone wonders why my favorite colors are blue and green, it's because sights like this are what i grew up on

given most of the recent Goings-On here on this side of the pond, i'm looking at moving my portfolio website and blog (currently hosted on a VPS on Vultr) off of US-based infrastructure
i am aware that "there is no cloud, only someone else's computer", but i do not have direct access to bare metal in a non-five-eyes state. with that stated: does anyone have recommendations for a privacy-centric VPS service located outside of US jurisdiction?
for context, i am an American trans journalist and graphic novelist who is more than comfortable with setting up a Linux webserver from scratch. literally just need somewhere i can give my readers updates on my work without possibly facing US-based anti-trans censorship in the future.
(plz boost 4 reach!)

icymi; lost my day job (again) this past week and i am back open for commissions! please consider throwing some work my way or sharing my portfolio with folks who have illustration projects they need an artist for if you can <3
minor update to this: I seem to be out of a day job again, so not only will the Clippings book likely be out before I had planned but I'll also have a few pages worth of the original art for the strips available for sale
if you'd like to help me keep doing what I do, consider snagging one! more details soon <3
this month on Clippings: flag day
we start this comic's third year running (!) and celebrate Memorial Day with a portrait of trans submariner, fantasy author, union organizer, and trans flag designer Monica Helms
coming soon on
@assignedmedia.org
currently working through the last few photos for my coverage of the Michigan Trans Unity rally for @assignedmedia.org
and i think i am going to remember this contrast for a long time

in the right, us
