RFC writing in progress. Cleaning some naming inconsistencies and edge cases. But quite a big update for GD and #php will hopefully come to 8.6, preparing for more in later version. Hi demanded features added. Codecs compliance+new ones. https://wiki.php.net/rfc/ext-gd-2.4 feedback welcome!

@beberlei@phpc.social it seems it will have to wait 1y or so. Policies over innovation. Kind of disappointing given it is fully implemented, still in alpha for php next , and I should bypass the preparation PR process and simply merged myself into my code ;-)

@beberlei@phpc.social well not necessarily for one, the canvas-like api is standard, nothing to be fancy about. same To names :) and codec images read/write, same. stream/file/string, options. A comment about from* should be createFrom* while own rfc (accepted) uses from*. :)
