Because it normalizes having people on the bench that are not qualified to be there… other than their willingness to be partisan hacks.

mastodon 4.7.3I have never been accused of being normal.
Not afraid of social justice. He/Him
I have been working remotely since 2002 and find it amusing that people have problems making it work. #Perl helps.
I do “full stack” stuff. No, not just that stack… the whole stack. Hardware and OS stuff too.

I’m still trying to process that first sentence… can’t even imagine letting that happen!
(I’ve probably got a 3 month supply since two of my most favorite coffees were being discontinued by the roaster(s) and I bought 5 lbs of each in addition to my normal amount of their other offerings)
Ok, you really need to go the the web site for this one

I’m a web dev and last week was the first time in more than 5 years that I needed chrome… to fix a bug that only occurred in chrome.
Otherwise I use primarily use safari.
Any time safari hasn’t worked for a web site… firefox has.
Tho, I don’t use most sites “normal” people do… like google or youtube or any other properties from companies that have primary income from advertising. (meta)

Heresy, I say.
When I was a kid I dreamed of being on a mission to Mars, alone.
The South Pole seems kinda fun too.

It definitely wasn’t cheap, but we got (and are still getting) our money’s worth.
We hauled our kids to a LOT of after school athletic activities… while living in Wyoming and Montana where the nearest competitor was a town several hours away.
Now my oldest is using it.
(Bought in 2011 and in excellent shape. Bullet proof and very reliable.)

You’d be lying on the floor
You’d be begging me, “Please, please…”

Seeing those “metro” areas in Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas sent me down a rabbit hole looking for how they defined them…

I was trying to order the so I could figure out which one… but thankfully you used checkboxes instead of radio buttons.
As someone who came of age in the early 80’s… all of them!
Hot take: The only features you should use on a tv is the hdmi port and the remote to select the input and volume.

What does it mean when the first thing I saw was a plugged in toaster being thrown to the guy in the water?

I have an alias that will search thru my history* for a string
I often copy a previously run command and paste it (usually right into the same session)
- technically not the session history… my prompt copies every command into a separate file (called ‘eternal_bash_history.log’) and that is what is searched… some commands may not be run for years

I recommend against reading the book unless you really want to read them all, instead of doing something else.
( They are quick reads… and very good. #imho )

I don’t believe in expanding the Supreme Court.
I believe in replacing dead justices.
How they die is left as an exercise for the reader.

I simply went to Amazon and searched for usb to lora and got a bunch of hits.
So, theoretically one could plug in an adapter on each end and have the keyboard far away.
Not known tho if the data rate is compatible… as in, will it work with a fast typist, etc

Come live in Montana, walk outside past your wifi… and see how that works out for you.
Anything not in a flat part of town or the highway is a big ol’ “SOS” for cell coverage.
(Wyoming was the same way when I lived there)

If you are like me and snickered at the idea of a “Texas winter storm”… it is all about the rare event.
We can easily weather below zero temps… but those aren’t rare here.
(And we have competent people running our energy grid)
