I really enjoyed reading these thoughts by David Hogg on astrophysics' future and LLMs, https://arxiv.org/html/2602.10181v1. I was so shaken by the idea of “Let-them-cook” — how the author names this mindset — in https://www.quantamagazine.org/the-ai-revolution-in-math-has-arrived-20260413/ that I read last week, deeply questioning **why** we do science at all. I am glad that the author took the time to write down in so clear words something I couldn't have expressed this way.
