@gsuberland@chaos.social I would love to see that. I just try stuff and have only vague notions about what’s a good starting value.
@GrantMeStrength@hachyderm.io On a recent road trip, I realized another sci-fi truism. I had become Sigourney Weaver in Galaxy Quest, endlessly repeating the navigation directions because the driver wasn't listening to the map.
@hpux735@infosec.exchange What about the GreenPak devices? I haven't used them myself but they look like the right features and are closer in price point.
@paulrickards@mastodon.social I had one of those in college. The folks down the hall in the dorm thought something was wrong when I printed something. More than once a knock on the door, “are you ok?”
@xodium@bitbang.social 98% 203 cycle count same manufacture date. I have the only charge to 80% setting turned on.
@b0rk@social.jvns.ca @jasonkarns@indieweb.social Many years ago I was working on an experimental branch I didn't want to expose to the larger team yet. I knew it would be controversial. I also was flipping between a machine at the office and a machine at home. IIRC I used this to keep the two machines aligned as to latest changes. Eventually I did push the branch to the normal upstream. I'm running of a 10 year old memory, so treat accordingly.
@helenczerski@fediscience.org I came across some diving in NorCal. Found it all a bit shocking.
Hey Victor 9000, ACT Sirius 1 folks. There's someone in the ClassicCMP discord forum who is trying to create a model of how many Victor 9000/ACT Sirius 1 machines were ever built. He's asking folks for a photo of the serial number from the bottom of their machines. If you have one, can you take a photo? This is located under the main CPU unit. I'm happy to give a link to the discord channel or cross post if it's easier for you to upload here. He's looking for the number along with place of manufacture. Separately, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New year. #victor9k #actsirius1 #Victor9000
