@halfbyte@ruby.social I'm personally interested in seeing something like this happen - had only recently realised the limitation on Codeberg not allowing closed-source projects (but also, hadn't gotten around to seriously migrating any private repos there yet anyway). If you went with Forgejo, then I'd also love to see/pay for shared actions runners hosting as well. I have been toying with sharing something along those lines already, especially now that Forgejo v15 I think has some API endpoints to track runner usage - which in turn could help determine some level of auto-scaling or at least reporting on runner availability.

@richiekhoo@hachyderm.io I've been using Postmark for a long time, remaining quite happy with it. That said, they're for transaction-only emails, not marketing. Keen to see what other answers you get!

@sindarina @leonieke a strong +1 for The Brothers Bloom, I adore it - hopefully you can find a way to watch it somehow.

@cjk@chaos.social @rdh@floss.social looking forward to giving this a go as a potential Git Tower replacement :) Just wondering: on macOS, whereabouts does the gitte CLI executable live? (i.e. I'd like to add it to my PATH). Also: love that you've got GNU Terry Pratchett in there. ❤️

@duncan_bayne@mastodon.bsd.cafe @timriley@ruby.social not sure when the next Melbourne one will be, given the previous two retreats were in Victoria - but who knows, it's generally up to whoever puts their hand up to organise! :)

@halfbyte@ruby.social also, I have managed to get Renovate working with Codeberg (particularly with the plans to use it for private repos before the recent terms clarity), but I wouldn't be mad about setting that aside for depfu :)

@Ashedryden they're all so damn cool - and Yoko Kanno brings such joy to it all. I recently learned that the character of Edward in Cowboy Bebop was inspired by Kanno, and from that video and seeing her live last year, that checks out.

@fn0rd on the off chance you're in Australia or New Zealand (though not South Australia), this role is with a lot of excellent humans, many of whom don't use AI much at all. https://www.ethicaljobs.com.au/members/assemblyfour/engineering-manager-remote-work-from-home?keywords=Assembly%20Four

@1password@1password.social Yikes. Support for a racist transphobe is not something that’s exciting or worth celebrating. There's other options available for supporting the Ruby community - RubyCentral, for starters! - so the fact that you've chosen this path instead is extremely concerning.

@JonRowe Codeberg has support for automated mirroring. I dare say the biggest sticking point will be prodding people to contribute on Codeberg rather than GitHub. Also, I don’t think there’s support for the Actions-driven gem releases thus far.

@JonRowe another challenge that comes to mind: I’d be guessing with issues and PRs in GH, either they’re visible _and_ active as features, or not visible at all - there's no read-only approach. Don't really want to delete/hide all of that historical context, but that makes it hard to further nudge contributions/discussions over to Codeberg.

@rdh@floss.social @cjk@chaos.social that seems to be it, yes - the docs mention the ability to run `gitte ` to open up a directory in the app. What you've pointed to does the job, thank you - though it also creates a new icon in the doc on each invocation. 😅 I'll log an issue on Codeberg :)
