Kind of a trivial little project, but it was more difficult than it should have been, so I'll take a victory lap here. I got this luggage on the cheap at a thrift store, only to get home and notice that the rubberized layer on the wheels was cracking and falling off. I bought a set of inline skate wheels, drilled out the rivets holding the originals in place, and bolted the new ones in. They look 99% cooler and will probably outlast the suitcases. If not, at least they'll be easily replaceable.

RIP Raoul Vaneigem "Desire everything, expect nothing." Here's a lively interview from 2009 that gives a nice taste of what he was all about. "I am simply the spokesman, among others, of a radical consciousness. I just do what I can to see that resistance to market exploitation is transformed into an offensive of life, and that an art of living sweeps away the ruins of oppression." --- In Conversation with Raoul Vaneigem - e-flux Journal no. 6 https://www.e-flux.com/journal/6/61400/in-conversation-with-raoul-vaneigem #RaoulVeneigem #Situationism

@AdrianRiskin@kolektiva.social reminds me of this gem of a human "Meet the sword-wielding man hired to kick squatters out of empty Oakland homes" https://oaklandside.org/2025/09/30/asap-squatter-removal-oakland/

Tomorrow in Santa Cruz, a reunion of the Shook/Corcoran/Nakamura trio, fortuitously crossing paths with Sandy Ewen & Arrington De Dionyso on tour, and local friends Leshy & James Mossa as Secret Handshake. This one has something for everyone. Should be a great show at SubRosa, 703 Pacific Avenue in downtown Santa Cruz, CA. Presented by S.C.U.M. (Santa Cruz Underground Music). Our trio is joined tomorrow by the superlative cellist and all-around decent human Fred Lonberg-Holm for a special set at the wind cave above Sutro Baths in San Francisco. I'll be performing tonight in Fort Bragg, CA with old friends in a new trio: Kevin Corcoran and Chris Cooper. I have a new setup involving amplified bass clarinet, and Kevin has some sort of amplified percussion rig that I haven't heard. Chris is bringing his blasted & refracted guitar assemblage, and we will attempt to weave it all together into something new. An outdoor show at the Larry Spring Museum of Common Sense Physics. Doors open at 5pm. https://larryspringmuseum.org/calendar/2026/3/23/wilson-shook-chris-cooper-and-kevin-cororan Chris and I continue north to Arcata tomorrow before returning to the Bay, where I have a few more dates this week. This dude on the train has a #Nike swoosh face and neck tat. One of each.

@starchy@infosec.exchange I started following Crust News recently. They cover other stuff, but it's a fair amount of Palestine & Iran. They seem to do a good job.
