15 years ago today the Utøya massacre happened, the single largest terrorist hit in the Nordic Countries.
Where human shit-stain Breivik murdered 77 and injured over 300 people, many of whom kids.
At first the terror "expert" Ramstorp went out to inform people that it was obviously Al-Qaida, that was until they learned who the perpetrator was at which point the entire thing was described differently: "tragedy", "nightmare" and the killer wasn't a "terrorist" he was a "murderer".
Everytime I feel a bit down, I read about good folks doing good things surrounded by good people helping them.
Loving v Virginia is a thing like that. A couple where the husband was white, the wife First Nation and black, fought against the laws in their home state Virginia against interracial marriage and won.
Mildred Loving, being an absolute queen also issued a statement in support of samesex marriage in the US before passing onward in 2008.

@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange when we visited the US me and my husband had to ask the waitor what the correct amount of tip was. And then had to explain that we don't have that where were from or when it happens its not as formalised so its vague at best.
Since going to a restaurant was so uncomfortable we just stopped and mostly ate ready made meals from a shop.
The idea that I am meant to judge the staff based on some metric I don't understand is dehumanising

Little kids are little kids no matter what. His stick figures and doodles and writing exercises are the same as any little kid now, across the planet.
My heart beats extra when I think of the majestic idea that I am looking over the shoulder of a little kid slacking off in class 800 years ago and he is identical to all kids now living, everywhere.

The fantasy that men and boys are not victims of sexist patriarchal power structures is to me a cruelty beyond words. The dream that they are a simple boogie-man in full control is just sexism.
Again, Connor was a grown man and while that's sad he had outs. The boys he influenced do not. And those boys growing up in a society that applauds self harm when boys do it aren't helped by the Hollywood logic of a simple bad guy to beat to solve an issue.

@futurebird@sauropods.win counter argument KINDA: the creation of art for whatever reason, by any quality, is its own reason.
By making something, anything, no matter how garbage it is, you are creating something - an act of living.
You can call it "training to get better" or "emotional support art" - but what it is is deeply human. You are carving "Croatoan" in to the bark of your own tree.
Sure professionally perhaps its different - its just that art should be made with passion, skill is secondary.

These are men and boys willingly poisoning themselves because they think that unless they do that they are not worthy of love.
Same exist in anorexia communities. But since black pill groups are so toxic, we often miss the fact that the people they try to influence aren't grownen like Connor but boys who are taught that self harm and self hatred is the only path forward to deserve or be capable of feeling love.

The complexity of shapes and amount of colour-shifting in areas where it "would" be shadow? I can only assume that is a conscious choice?
Because the thin strands hanging under the main body is creating this illusion/obvious illusion of shadow and its spot on.

Same here but tbh I have no idea how effective it really is. I mean the salt might lump up from moisture if you're on a boat but I always had the feeling that adding rice is just introducing some place fungi could grow...
But I have no idea at all.
(A friend of mine who's touchingly close to a hoarder saves all the silica packets he gets and folks around here ask him if they need to dry out some electronic thing)

OK so I get that Swedish have dialects but adding Jämtländska to the mix and not the others is kinda weird.
And "pissmyra" is a word for "fire ants" literally meaning "piss ants" or "ettermyra" in Swedish or specifically the species Myrmica Rubra
"Pissmyra" is colloquial and something you said about those ants as a kid

First time being totally star struck by proxy. A guy we did a move for was friends with Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin who's exhibition of Biblical scenes with LGBTQ people got the Swedish church in a spat with the Vatican back in the day.
This guy was also in Wallin's trans exhibition as part of the Caravaggio inspired painting "The Doubter" (he's the guy in the red sweater) and had a print of it.

If we treat them good, they will leave holes in us when they pass. But that's not us losing something, just making room for more of that love they gave us when living.
The world tells us we need to yearn for cash, and fear punishment from the powerful - but pets show us that that is just make belief. When all we want is them smiling up at us after a long walk.

Bara lyssna på musiken, gitarren, ett instrument han behärskade enormt väl. SEN lyssnar du på sångerna. Inte dom vanliga låtarna vi sjöng i skolan utan dom om alkisar, tjacknyttjare och hemlösa.
Utan att dömma eller förlåta sjunger han om dom på ett sätt som knappt går att efterlikna.

I further think that as a feminist that the comedy that we ( me included, no judgement) find in his pain is a sign that for for men, we have yet to inspect, criticize and work towards ending gender roles and their oppressions.
He is a boy showing, glorifying, and dramatizing his own self-harm. Had he NOT been a boy we would have seen that this is a cry for help. But since he is, we find his failures amusing. His pain a source of enjoyment.
