Cloudflare is not hosting them. They are simply using Cloudflare reverse-proxy free CDN like millions of other websites (mines included).

At least in Italy (but I'm quite confident it is the same all over Europe) we need and always needed to give our ID to buy any SIM card/ phone subscription. There's no such thing as a burner phone.

At least in Italy, an Italian ID is basically free (I recall paying less than 10€ in tax and there are exceptions for people below poverty line) and can be issued to anyone residing in Italy, homeless included.

In Italy we have a similar system for accessing public libraries. Since 1973, a Tax ID has been issued at birth for every citizen (immigrants are given one when applying for a residence permit), so everyone has one.
With your Tax ID you can borrow books or e-books from your local public library.
There's even an app to request books online. Easy peasy!

-It has a modern UI, which make it a smoother switch to people familiar with MS Office.
-Collabora Desktop and Web UIs are the same, so users don't have to learn two different tools.
-90% of people won't ever need the advanced functionalities. The other 10% could stay on MSO or OnlyOffice.

On the image size, have you tried WebP and AVIF formats? Their footprint should be very low.

The UI barely changed from 2007, with the exception of eye-candy parts and new functionalities. That's the great advantage of MSO: people in their 40s started learning how to use it at school... and they are familiar with the UI, making MSO the preferred choice at work.

It depends on how verification is implemented. Double-blind age verification is a viable solution. We have it in Italy.

Yes, data is transmitted to the government. Italian ID is cheap, it costs 16 € in taxes, is valid for 10 years, comes with eID credentials. Anyone should have one, even immigrants and asylum seekers, which are granted an ID and a Fiscal Code, which gives access to free national healthcare too.
eID are useful to securely authenticate yourself into any government or private service.
Few months ago my wife bought a new SIM card: it's a 5 minutes process with the eID.

@libreoffice @tdforg My 2 cents: I see the whole thing as a huge mistake. LibreOffice has been killed by years of slow improvements and poor decisions on UI. Now, that's the final blow.
My only issue is: now that OnlyOffice unveiled its real face and LibreOffice is terminally ill, we have not many options left. I'm thinking to switch to @CollaboraOffice

In addition: our national emergency number can track you using your phone position (if enabled). I called a couple of times. They know your name and your position. Very handy when you are in an emergency.
