RE: https://mastodon.social/@obrhoff/115875946363465985 This iPad app is still my career’s proudest achievement. I was bugging mgmt for a _year_ to be allowed to build it. Designing it with Tobias Ahlin and then building it with the rest of the iOS team at Spotify was a blast. App design was just so pretty and fun in that era. I miss it so bad, all that care for subtle detail and quality interactions.

1. what the hell, Super Mario Galaxy (the game) is almost TWENTY YEARS OLD‽ 😭 I thought it was like... six, maybe seven?

So I've been incredibly skeptical of AI… but I think it's time for me to relent 😅

Claude built this app in the background yesterday while I was doing other work. I nudged it when it was writing bad code towards better solutions. But mostly I didn't write a single line. The web site took literally 30 seconds to build, it took longer to make the tiny video clips, or write the readme.

Software as a concept is becoming radically different, now that we can build practically 6 months of work and semi-finished products in a few days. What of SaaS when anyone can build a custom dashboard without coding skills in a few prompts?

On the other hand, all software makers have the same power at their fingertips, including SaaS makers. One outcome might be vastly more powerful software, ones that takes years to build _with_ these tools, decades without.

@tshirtman@mas.to @ikenndac@mastodon.social pretty sure ground is either an illusion, or magic; but as long as it’s letting my clicketies go clackity, I’m happy 😅 Claude is a good tutor, but I’m also cheating with human expertise— I have a friend who is a professional PCB designer :) Boards are cheap if you do it right! Fail a few times, what’s the worst that can happen :)

@obrhoff@mastodon.social @jonhicks@mastodon.social ooof 88% demonetized, that’s insane. Ew. Ugh. IMHO Spotify used to take a lot of unwarranted criticism. There were a lot of apples to oranges comparisons that made Spotify out to be bad guys when they weren’t. But then they started making more and more nasty business decisions over the years. Self fulfilling prophecy? I left because already in 2013, it went from being a passion driven company to one ruled my corporate politics. It’s just downhill from there.

This is one of the most insane/genius sentence I’ve read in a while. I had a similar project way back that I called ”reverse cyborg”, but it only used 8 signals to communicate bytes through touch.
