It was never about cataloging all the world's information, but rather about controlling it. A vast reversal of the renaissance, the enlightenment, the industrial revolution, and finally the information age. Colonizing our own minds and selling us back our own thoughts after they train us to believe that thinking is not an intrinsic trait. And people are already paying for the privilege.

Three photos showing three different views of a blooming amaryllis belladonna flower head. This variation is almost perfectly split between a white center and pink petals. One of my favorite scents from the flower kingdom. #bloomscrolling
I used to enjoy going to the new uploads section of #printables, but now it's just 90% slop with less than a dozen degenerate accounts flooding the site with so much AI trash that it's not even worth browsing anymore. #3dprinting I will admit that it's shit like this that has started turning me against "AI" without reservation...
My modular bottle brick project has just undergone a major update. Also the physical 8 x 8 foot physical prototype is about 1/3 finished. If anyone wants to help me test it out, feel free. Released under the open community license. #3dprinting https://www.printables.com/model/1714929-modular-bottle-brick-complete-kit/files
Finally trying my hand at park script after years and years of admiring the style. Yellow paint is standard, but I'm partial to this high gloss red. Pictures show outline block lettering "FIREWOOD" carved out of redwood shiplap, then filled in with vibrant red paint. A glass eyedropper was used to fill the channels with paint.
Finally got around to re-releasing my achiral interlocking card case after Mattel took it down. I made a few improvements too. https://www.printables.com/model/1792898-playing-card-case-improved #3dprinting
Honestly the only cool techbros I've ever known are the ones who quit in disgust. I'm sure someone could do an entirely unnecessary PhD on this, but there's a pretty obvious correlation between tech fetishization and dark triad personality traits. Once you see past the exceedingly shallow chrome of it all, the biological interior that keeps the lifeless metal alive is pathologically reductive.
Graft successful! Waiting is always the hardest part. One month in a cooler then four months later... The dead looking stick sprouts leaves, bonding to an alien tree, like some kind of witchcraft.
This channel is extraordinary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stc_mAbYoZw

This is by far the coolest and most ingenious old world tool I've ever owned. It's so well designed I might even make a video about it. Pictured: heavy duty collapsible compound cable snips, dark steel components elegantly shaped, curving and twisting in masterful ways. Fastened with thick rounded rivets. Cleverly proportioned to produce many times the cutting force of fixed snips while being able to fold neatly into a compact shape.
Most Americans are okay with atrocities, even ones they're directly responsible for, as long as they're happening to someone else. Bonus if it's indirect & double bonus if it's somewhere else. This is the main reason I'll never feel okay thinking of myself as an American, or feel any kind of pride for what it is often presumed to represent. It's okay to not feel guilt by association when you do everything you can to avoid compulsory participation, but I'll never understand tacit patriotism.
Been working on this for a little while so going to release the files before I make a video.

When the borage catches the light just right, and all the little defensive hairs glow, it looks like some kind of fantasy chandelier. Especially white borage. #bloomscrolling
Special place in hell for industrial designers who use adhesives where they are 10,000% unnecessary... Pictured: a small PV solar panel glued to a piece of plastic. First image shows bonded remnants of plastic housing, second shows the panel by itself mostly stripped of adhesive. Ugh.
Commemorating my steel & glass work tables I built in my 20s with documentation, since I always meant to publish the designs but never got around to it. Pictured: generic galvanized perforated plate hand-cut to various lengths, bolted together to create a rectangular table. Rubber grommets were used to buffer the slabs of 1/4" glass placed on top.
Skill unlocked. Despite what AI recommended, you can in fact safely get all the paint out of a can of spray paint that is clogged but fully pressurized. In fact it is fairly easy and just requires a single sturdy needle. Obviously the needle goes into the valve hole and not the metal :P
Turtle man gotta be dead. I mean for real this time, otherwise they wouldn't be trying to upload his consciousness into a robot turtle that can terrorize the poor for a thousand years.
My collection of salvaged DC electric motors removed from a bunch of random scrapped devices. Used 2 so far this year.
Accidentally clicked on a video I thought was the new Pentagon UFO footage, but it was just another "drug boat" being blown up. What a world.
Yogiri Takatou wasn't the hero we wanted, but he is the hero we need.
Imagine thinking the phrase "war robot revolution" is desirable in any context. You are a soft, porous, psychologically tenuous nerve leaden meat golem; I guarantee this will not go the way you were expecting.
