#introduction time!

Hi hello. I'm Moxie. You may know me already, because I've been here before. I'm an overly nostalgic Millennial who just can't give up on social media, despite my best efforts.

I'm a Māori New Zealander living in the Netherlands with my (also Kiwi) husband Sam, and our two dogs Moose & Caribou. I am disabled (by chronic illness & ADHD) and underemployed, so I spend a lot of time in these parts.

I love the feeling of running my fingers across a keyboard at speed which also means I like to code & write. I'm better at the former, but mediocre at both. I am still happy to share with the world though! You can find me at moxiemoshpit.com and madmadammoxie.me.

I have been so focused on this fansite that I have been neglecting literally everything else again.

I feel bad for NZ if this virus becomes a big deal because they've got absolute muppets in charge this time.

I am actually sad that it's closing in on the end of the day because I am on a roll with this fansite.

I wish it was healthy for me to ignore my need for sleep and continue working on it! 🙃

Bah! I had to use the bridge to get to the doctor's office this morning which involves a small hill because the flat walkway was still closed. Got to the other side and BAM! open. 🙃

Bah! My sweetener dispenser broke, but I cannot find a replacement. Not even if I buy a full pack of sweetener for it. 🙃

Django is such a great tool for making a fansite. I honestly avoided doing this for some time because I knew it would be a pain in the ass to build with WordPress.

I can hear my neighbours having a gathering. I wonder if I'll be serenaded with Taylor Swift songs again.

I really wish viruses only infected people who don't believe in them.

Of all the things Europeans can use to feel superior to Americans, cutlery etiquette shouldn't be one of them. That's some made up, classist bullshit that doesn't affect you in the slightest.

Sorry for the hyperfixation posts on this virus. It's just that I became disabled by one, and the further disabled by another. So it's hard for me not to worry/care about the possibility of this next one actually taking me out this time. Especially knowing I live somewhere no one cares enough to keep me safe. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I still bothers me that Lzzy Hale looks like one of my exes if he was a woman.

One of the biggest indicators that my ADHD meds work is the fact that walking my dogs at 5:30 in the morning when it's quiet af still feels louder than an 8am walk after taking my meds at 7:30.

Whenever an American refer to burgers as sandwiches or pasta as noodles in a video, I immediately HAVE to check the comments section because I just know there's gonna be drama with other anglophones.

But like, that is a weird thing Americans do when the words for these things exist in their version of English. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's still too warm outside for me to walk my dogs at their usual time. Doesn't help that I am in a lot of pain and got bugger all sleep last night. But still.

It's still not even summer. This is bad. Am I just going to have to change the routine in general?

Hmm. The videos I am seeing of Five performing live recently are making me worried that they're gonna be completely out of energy when they make it to Amsterdam next month.

I'm literally right at the back of the arena because I didn't want to pay more than €60. I need the energy to be high so I can feel it back there!

Tomorrow, we return to more normal weather and I'm so very happy about it.

I wish the conspiracy theorists who think CERN took us back to the late 2000s were right.

I am getting so frustrated with the epidemiologists who are all "don't worry about it because we know this about hantaviruses" because they're sounding exactly like the ones who "knew" about coronaviruses did six years ago.

I am so excited about this fansite I'm working on, but because it's for a band with a teeny tiny fan base and many of them weren't around for fansites, it's probably not going to attract too many visitors.

But I am having a blast making it so...

I kept being fed content about this and I am actually convinced this will be what takes us out now.

So, I was interested in going to see Devin Townsend on his next tour because it's a retrospective and thus he'd be playing his older stuff that I enjoy, but the tickets are literally DOUBLE what I paid to see him last.

Granted that was before the pandemic started, but ugh. I am not paying those prices for a not-so-popular artist and the possibility of further illness.

The estimated €400 that our power company suggested we'd be getting back at the end of the year is absolutely going to be eaten up by aircon if we keep having boiling hot ass days like this.

Just opened the door to let the dogs out and it almost made me vomit.

Ooh fun. People are "not worried" about the hantavirus because it's "not contagious".

As if climate change hasn't made it easier for viruses to become contagious.
