@matthiasott@mastodon.social I've been thinking about software in the Bauhaus tradition on and off for a while now, and this cleanly gets to the heart of it. Thanks for writing it!

@mariafarrell@mastodon.social it's a while since I thought about this sort of thing so I am probably out of date. But the availability of pqc made me think that exploits at the transport layer will be fixable quickly, once it is widely known to be a problem.
Knowing is, of course, a challenge, but it seems to me that gaining access to realtime data is only important if you are going to use it pretty soon, at which point you risk detection.
I'm still concerned about encrypted data at rest though!

@mariafarrell@mastodon.social I once pulled a muscle in my neck by sneezing wrongly, so at least yours is a less embarrassing reason! Hope you are not suffering too much or for too long.

@mariafarrell@mastodon.social glad it's not bad-bad! And I'm fine these days. My neck and back haven't given me any problems since (touch wood) I started using a standing desk. Have fun with your resumed pilates - one of the variants I haven't heard of :-)

@jesseplusplus I use f-droid for a few things. I don't know if you are aware, but you are asking this at an interesting time: https://keepandroidopen.org/

@mariafarrell@mastodon.social I saw this article go past and since you were asking about this sort of thing recently, I thought I'd share in case you found it interesting and hadn't seen it:

Don't know if you are aware, but you can edit toots on mastodon, to fix things like typos. It's available through the web UI, and might be in your client too, depending on what you use.

@rachelcoldicutt I'm glad I put this content warning on, since you clearly know all about it anyway! Apologies for the distraction, and I'm hopeful there will be more giddiness in your future soon!
