I think the next two things I want to add to FastPlay are, a library dialog, you could choose which folders are added to your library and whether those folders show up in regular songs/artist/albums/etc views, or just the folders view, as well as I want to add a FastPlay Remote/connect type of thing, where you can control a running FastPlay instance from a web browser or a mobile device, any aspect from like the podcatcher, radio, library, etc, and optionally stream the actual FastPlay audio to said web browser/device.

Finally, Windows and NVDA people. I figure the old DECtalk add-on code we've had floating around since 2012 that we've been hacking and hacking on isn't doing anyone any favors. I've built an entirely new NVDA add-on for DECtalk. This one comes with a fully native 64-bit DECtalk DLL, no compatibility layer required, as well as a 32-bit DLL for all the way back to NVDA 2023 compatibility. In addition, we now support changing all of DECtalk's voice perametors, including SPF. Heya! I just pushed FastSMRW 0.4.2! - Fixed: the Mentions timeline no longer keeps dragging in older and older mentions every time it refreshes while you're reading it.
- Fixed: replying to a post that's no longer loaded now tells you so, instead of quietly sending your reply as a normal post with nothing attached to it.
- Fixed: your place in a timeline is no longer lost when a notification group or conversation you're sitting on updates; if the post you're on does disappear, you now stay where you were instead of being thrown to the top.
- Fixed: reopening the app now puts you back where you were reading even when the post you left off on is too old to still be saved, instead of starting you at the top.
- Fixed: posts hidden by one of your server's filters no longer reappear after a restart and stay for the rest of the session.
- Fixed: unboosting a post now removes the boost from your timelines right away instead of leaving it there until you restart.
- Fixed: editing a pinned post no longer drops it out of your pinned posts.
- Fixed: sounds now come back on their own if the Windows audio service restarts or your audio device changes, instead of staying silent until you restart the app.

Another quick FastSMRW update, adding autoread, and post copying. Yes, both of these have assignable/configurable templates! Related, FastSMRW makes following a bunch of people at once, or even just multiple people at once, super easy! Just use shift+arrows to select multiple users from a followers buffer for instance, then you can use enter to open a menu of user actions on those users. Right now, multi select by method of control arrows+space I don't think will work. Need to figure that one out still.

OK, all non-windows related FastSM issues should be fixed now. Linux build should run, and Mac should speak through VoiceOver. Sorry about this. We finally switched to Prism as the speech backend instead of accessible_output2, and ran into a few bugs as well as user errors (Oops) across different OSs.
Hi guys! So I have a new FastSMRW version for you. This one adds the audio earcons when navigating over posts with E.G. audio, images, mentions, etc, all configurable of course! You also get the update profile dialog, you can report posts/users from their profile dialog or the view post dialog, you can now bookmark/unbookmark posts, we have a system tray icon on Windows, in the invisible interface, Ctrl+Win+Alt+O opens a post's links and Ctrl+Win+Alt+P pins or unpins the current timeline, conversations timeline fixes, threads now properly follow the timeline order setting and don't display backwards, potential non US keyboard layout fixes, and more! https://github.com/masonasons/FastSMRW/releases/tag/v0.4.4

@alexchapman@vee.seedy.cc To be clear: DECtalk's sourcecode was not put on github by anyone at Fonix or anything like that. It was an ex employee of DECtalk who gave the code to Jake, who gave the code to someone else, and then it ended up on github. Just because the org says DECtalk means nothing, someone has just created an org called DECtalk for convenience.

@alexchapman@vee.seedy.cc Licensing isn't that simple mate. Just because a company doesn't exist anymore doesn't mean that company's assets weren't sold to another company, or that the license just poof goes away. We just simply don't know, the license holder of DECtalk was never transparent about it's state and it's unclear where DECtalk's ownership currently stands, if anywhere. We may just never know.
So, I'm going to start a FastSM testing group. In this group it will be your job to test some really early FastSM builds for multiple different platforms. The group will be on Telegram, and feedback and such will be shared there. If you haven't looked into Agram for iOS/Mac or AccessibleGram for iOS, as well as Nicogram for android, Easygram, Unigram or TweeseCake for Windows, I encourage you to do so. Send me a dm here please if you are interested to join this group. I have some really fun things coming up regarding FastSM and I want hands on some of this stuff early, so I can get some good feedback. Note, I'm selecting a smaller group at first, so don't be offended if you don't get chosen.

@ZBennoui@dragonscave.space I actually don't know exactly what the minimum required Mac OS version is, but I can tell you that semi recently I fixed a lot of the crashes that had been plaguing MacOS in general, so it may be worth just giving a shot. It should work on Sequoia just fine.

@alexchapman@vee.seedy.cc incorrect. DECtalk may be on github, but that doesn't mean we officially have free reign to do whatever we want with it. The licensing situation was never made clear, and thus I will not be touching Test Flight or the App Store with DECtalk with a 100 foot pole.
