"How is it that anything is possible but nothing is changing?!"
My dude, you're *so* close.
Today's spin: Haute and Freddy's debut, Big Disgrace. Theatrical and danceable - a bit of Lady Gaga, a bit of Chappell Roan. I like it quite a bit
Only 3% of users on social media post toxic content. But surveyed users guess that number is 43%, due to algorithmic influence.
The 90s JVC tape players had a faux rubber, grippy surface. Over time, that plastic got icky-sticky. When people tried to clean that surface, like with alcohol, it took the finish right off, along with any labeling.
So I've been adding it back - white out lettering, sharpened with sharpie, and sealed with clear nail polish.
There are many cassette players (still), and this is mine.
Now to fix the scratchy volume pot.
"How you doing?"
"Oh, you know. I'm a bit distracted. Do you think we might actually drop a nuclear bomb tonight?"
"Okay. Wow. I guess actually my question was rhetorical. I just wanted to remind you to complete your CBTs."
"Great."

This is some wild stuff; while other smart devices fall prey to being hacked either due to incompetence or negligence, these Yarbo robotic lawn mowers and snow blowers would appear to be state-sponsored surveillance Trojan horses.
Woke up this morning and all the chickens had gotten out (guessing the door hadn't gotten latched properly when my wife brought the chicken tractor in last night).
Thankfully, all six came when I called - there was a wild turkey at the edge of the yard that they were visiting, but they don't do long goodbyes.
I probably should post some picks of the goobers sometime, but here are some swans that stopped briefly yesterday. We get ducks, geese, and the occasional egret, but never swans

The whole, "We're not racist and doing crimes, YOU'RE racist and doing crimes!" argument is laughable, if they weren't so deadly serious.
Equality is racism. Questions are attacks. We've always been at war with eastasia, only those who are terrorists would imply otherwise! #uspol
AAAAWWWWWWHHHHHHHOOOOOOO!
(But, seriously, why are we starting games at 9:30pm on a weekday? Sheesh.)
I don't care what your intentions are.
If your manifesto includes the phrase "hereditary elites" unironically, you've lost the plot.
Freedom through subjugation, and tolerance for others only if it is the right "others" is some real dystopian, 1984 crap.
How many of your own farts do you have to sniff before this kind of doublespeak starts making sense?
Spent some more time on a possible upcoming Net API Notes piece - resurrecting a 2010 photo frame whose online service went the way of planned obsolescence long ago.
Yesterday was a lot of debugging DHCP problems between a 2026 mesh network and 2010 wifi assumptions. Today I got a solid wireshark capture of the boot and update loop.
Next, is capturing the DNS calls to the defunct mothership, and route those payloads to a server I control.

Utah seems intent in demonstrating to the nation how a loud, irratable minority can set policy for a reasonable majority.
The thing about reading a lousy technical book is that it further discourages me from ever writing a technical reference. So, in that sense, this waste of 250 pages has got at least that going for it.
Had some time to waste tonight, so I dropped into my local big box to wander the toy aisle. A 7" action figure costs $20-$40 dollars now? Really?
Good grief.
