@signalapp Thanks to you. Just yesterday I moved my conversation with my brother over to signal. I've never actually had anyone to really talk every day and try it out

@Mer__edith On this point: if you waste their time you are punching where it hurts the most, but are still putting yourself at risk. Maybe you think "I'll tell them the code but off by one" but now if you make a mistake, you are done. Just hang up. It's the better option

@killyourfm@layer8.space Spotify launched con 2006. Almost 20 years ago. How much have you spent in music in that time? How much music do you own? I'm not saying that you are wrong, but if I had to buy everything I listen to for 20 years I would have spent waaaaaay more and never really discover new music, because I can't "just check it out".

@clement_la_baleine@mamot.fr @lebochequirit@social.tchncs.de @signalapp@mastodon.world manual backups are not backups.

@clement_la_baleine@mamot.fr @lebochequirit@social.tchncs.de @signalapp@mastodon.world Because you can't expect users to go backup all their apps everyday. I know Signal is just one. But it's not nice to say "it's not every app. Just ours. All other apps should do it automatically. We don't feel like it"

@clement_la_baleine@mamot.fr @lebochequirit@social.tchncs.de @signalapp@mastodon.world Wait. Now I'm confused. Is it automatic? Or manual? Is it encrypted? Can it be restored?

@clement_la_baleine@mamot.fr @lebochequirit@social.tchncs.de @signalapp@mastodon.world My bad. Usually, when one mentions "exports" instead of "backups" those are plain text, non recoverable one-time copy of all chats. Generally used if you have to do some analysis

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social sorry, this is offtopic. I'm new to mastodon but don't know who to follow. Who do you reconned? Love your videos. BTW. I do not have other social media, so I cant just look at who I follow on twitter
