Extremely weak niche pun of the day:

How do you read "function" here? When I read this the first time, I took it to mean that a healthy mind behaves that way (because something's "function" is part of its behaviour when it's working correctly).
But on rereading, I think the writer actually meant "one of the things our unconscious mind does"— which is a use of the word that surprised me.
