I support transgender rights. Trans rights are human rights. I support abolition of prisons, police, and other systemic structures of injustice and exploitation. My individual efforts are inadequate.

@darius@friend.camp this is part of the Brown Paper School series, they are all incredible in the same way of fun, depth, factoids, just wonderful.
"The Book of Where" on geography is the one I remember most strongly as a kid, but having revisited library copies of them recently when our kid was the right age, "The Book of Think" (on problem-solving), "Gee Whiz" (on art and science) and "This Book Is About Time" all get high marks too. Thanks for the reminder to keep sampling some more!
New to me found out along the swamp, Atamasco Lily is blooming. #Florespondence
So my partner and I recall a #comic about #life changing every 7 years, you have many lifetimes. By search and approximate year (I would have said 2011), it's almost certainly this one https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/2012-09-02 though both of us recall a much different art style and without the #death imagery. Anyways, a regular touch point for our circles throughout the interim two lifetimes, and if you happen to have seen a different version of this idea (no, not the SMBC poster either, color comic panels) that'd be a great start to the next cycle (though most likely thanks Zach for the ways this sentiment has morphed in our minds through reuse)

This is a 1956 model and set I believe (my great grandmother's, but disc 11 and 110 are maybe different/later, registration slot on the bottom rather than just hole).
Disc num(subscript): 11(3), 18(1), 19(1) 110(1), 121(1)

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @pixelpusher220@dmv.community I have my family heirloom one, it is a joy in looks and built to last indefinitely, though the power cord has been replaced. A while back someone on here was working to make 3d models to print the variable stitch cogs, which are a satisfyingly chunky oddity in themselves.
