@0x0ddc0ffee@infosec.exchange @Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt I would LOVE to see the resultant shareholder suit over an AI board. There's a long list of duties they are required to perform. Seeing, for example, how the courts would deal with the duty of care or the business judgement rule. OK, the business judgement rule may be handled better by the AI, but... a shareholder would still have them on the duty of care.

Today's tiny little humor... opposing party counsel should be able to correctly spell their represented party's name? You would think... But that just illustrates their own incompetence.

@bcrypt@infosec.exchange @micahflee@mastodon.social Don't forget that it's run by a CISO so a lot of the biggest messes can be addressed before they become a problem. Plus, he and a great staff are managing server sizing and disk space.

@jerry@infosec.exchange This also goes a long way to both explaining why "the feds are here" and why they're not an actual threat. GJ on getting that account set up.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social I had a friend who put all her wedding pictures on a raid thinking they would be safe. One drive failed. OK, replace it. The replacement drive was incompatible and caused cascading failures with the other drives. Everything was gone.

@mmasnick Do the lists of which you speak exist on Mastadon or just the client you have selected to use? Clients matter a lot more here. Sorta like phones... I will not stop with my telephone analogy, which I think fits rather spectacularly.

@0x0ddc0ffee@infosec.exchange I don't suppose drifting to absurditum is something that is common outside the legal profession. This is obviously a very straw man, but answering those kinds of dumb questions keeps people sharp. Sorry to have disturbed!

Today I learned that what jurisdiction you live in influences a lot of what remedies you could hope for if you are the victim of online fraud. Some jurisdictions have people who know how to handle it. Some don't.

If local law enforcement just kind of shrugs their shoulders with regards to your request then you have no remedy outside of hiring an expensive lawyer to do the trace.

@jerry@infosec.exchange @allanfriedman@infosec.exchange It was a Stanford presentation by a UI professor. Since her estimation of a big breakthrough was "not arresting hackers" it was hard to pull the good stuff from the talk.

@micahflee@mastodon.social I have been advocating for a lot of friends to do the same. Not sure how the transition works, though. I heard it can be bumpy.
