@Hex I don't think we will get the Ancaps off our back by using the term "consent". They love that term. In their world view, if you sign a contract that effectively makes you a slave, it is all consensual. And liberals also love that term; all that online spying? Fine as long as you "consent" to it by clicking "agree" on an online banner. And last but not least: in every-day language you quickly get from "consent" to rape analogies, which is a rhetorical minefield that is best avoided if you don't want to unintentionally relativize such horrible crimes.

@kuketzblog Ist ja auch einfach wenn man seine ganze Infrastruktur ausgelagert hat und die Metadaten dann halt da anfallen 🫠 Und mit dem sehr genauen Zeitstempel des letzten Logins den Signal speichert und auch herausgibt, lässt sich dann der ganze Rest der Metadaten bequem mit der Telefonnummer korrelieren. Ausserdem heißt nicht speichern noch lange nicht das Signal nicht verpflichtet werden kann zusätzliche Daten in Echtzeit zu erheben. Da gibt es in der USA eine spezielle Regelung die genau das ermöglich und natürlich per Gag-order darf Signal davon nichts sagen.

@nicoco Sadly not. All it seems to do is to easily open another XMPP client when you click a MUC link in Kaidan. @kaidan have you looked into the new GC3 efforts to modernize MUC? I think that would be really good to support in Kaidan.
