I do think that bring attention to avoid violence is a true green value and police' action should be scrutinised even when they are act to protect us. We will always need to watch the line of justification of violence 🙏

I am reading this thread with very same feeling what @serge@babka.social described here, I think if one ever being betrayed by political parties twice, they will share the same feeling: it doesn't matter what their high goals are, it only matter what they did and what they said. When bad things are done and said, it doesn't matter why you do it. Analogy: just because CCP is hostile to Taiwan independence it does not mean you can treat all Chinese people as spy. Antisemitism need to stop

They can be seen as good or bad "spirits" but again they are often said "thousands year old animals " for example the famous night tails fox (九尾狐) and monster cat (化貓)...they are powerful things that can transform between animal and human

Me and family just took 90 min train journey to try out this new Chinese restaurant at Charlotte Street in London. Totally worth it, super delicious! It's very very busy and but the shop keeper gave a table for 1 hour! I am a bit surprised tho how little East Asian customers are there.. considering how many Chinese students are in UCL😂

so you saw a picture of your mum then you remember your mum...etc..so I thought when it was first memorised it is the "niceness" that it coincides with the sensory collective you get to remember, and the "niceness" is the basic material rewards: food, comfort, warmth..etc. of course the opposite is also true you remember "discomfort" associated sensory collectives with hunger, bully and punishment..

It is a bit eye open for me, it seems only in simplified website or HK/Singapore traditional. Superficially it perhaps not a thing in Taiwan (where I am from). Here is a wiki, you can find it under Baijia Bei section. It says it is a Northern tradition.

@artcollisions I would not say it is any more special than the unit word hundred as @chu said it is used figuratively in a context for "many" and it happens to have an equivalent in English. But one thing I find quite interesting is that the equivalent of "thanks a million" is " appreciate for ten thousand 萬分感謝” there Chinese has a unique unit word for ten thousand = 萬(10000) yet English has unique unit word for 100萬 = million (1000000)

One simple way perhaps to take away farright's sound bit attack pn "net zero" is to reframe it as "equality in a warming UK" it does the same job and but emphasise how heatwaves kill people and disportoinally affect Reform voting community, so we need a comprehensive industrial strategy to fix this.

At the moment I need someone and somehow to keep Reform out. And there are some Green values not highlighted by Polanski I still cherish.
