@drrjv I'm a bit skeptical about putting datacenters in space, at least in the short term. In addition to geo-political aspects, my main concern is about cooling. I've seen way too many post on linked'in claming "Space is cold ! Cooling datacenter in space is free !" [insert picture of 2 monkeys clapping hand here].
Cooling satelite computers is already a real problem for a few KW. But with datacenters, we're talking about MW to cooldown. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's much more complicated than some investor might think. (Remember Hyperloop ?...)
Furthemore, we are already far from being type 1 civilisation on Kardashev scale, there are still plenty of energy available on earth before starting building a Dyson Sphere to be.

For me, it's like walking in city VS walking in a forest.
On classical Web, everything is overcrowded. Adds everywhere, everyone rush. You go here because you live there, and it's practical to go shopping.
Gemini is more like a peaceful plain or forest you go on weekend. There is not much to see, but sometimes you find a beautiful flower, or a nice bird. And if you met someone, you can have a quick talk with him/her and feel much more connected, because you are probably the only people for miles around.

Siggraph has always been the ultimate conference for me since I drew my first triangles on a TI82 in High School, and I am extremely proud to have my work present at such a prestigious event.
