How do you make things #findable in a community house? Last month we had a focus weekend on improving signage and inventories, to make newcomers more autonomous and reduce the sorting work. Any solutions to recommend?

Yesterday morning some of us held a small discussion group on #Tekmîl after reading this essay:
https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/tekosina-anarsist-tekmil-a-tool-for-collective-reflection
Tekmîl (Kurdish: ~report) is a set of meeting practices coupled with a philosophy of personal and collective growth, centering on critique and self-criticism, developed in #Rojava.
At Kanthaus we have a culture of feedback, also formalized in 'evaluations', but it's a tricky topic and we've a lot to learn.
This small group was motivated to try out Tekmîl in a couple of weeks!
As the leaves begin to fall, several residents have gone traveling and the next couple of weeks look to be a bit quiet here 🐁
A nice opportunity to visit! Come work on That Project you never find time for 🕯️ or pick apples and make nice stuff out of them 🍎 or get involved in some construction work 🔨 or...

Kanthaus has a significant history with foodsharing.de
Last October, after harvest, a local farmer gave us access to the potatoes that his clients wouldn't buy. We took them to the market square of the city for anyone passing by to take as much as they want. Not only food was saved, but it was an opportunity for community engagement.⛲
Yes, the potatoes are small and need to be washed, but they are still delicious! Thanks to the dirt protecting them, we now have potatoes for the whole winter.🥔
It's quite simple but needs to be said: if all grown potatoes are eaten, then less potatoes need to be grown next time.
A recent resident got quickly involved in our #freeshop which we open to the public every Tuesday.
They were inspired enough to make a pop-up version in #Trieste the other day! Apparently a lot of people came, and there was interest to make it regular 😊
Freeshops don't just reduce waste, but challenge the consumerist mindset and build community resilience 🖤
This week, we had the pleasure to host the #illustrator Jonas Goonface, who offered us this beautiful mural! 🤩
You can see more of his work on Instagram @jonasgoonface@kolektiva.social https://farside.link/bibliogram/jonasgoonface (we will let you know when he can be followed on the fediverse)
And yes, we still have some empty walls ;)
Komm zur Sonderöffnung unseres Verschenkeladens, am 24.11.23, 16 bis 19 Uhr, und erlebe #BlackFriday mal anders!

Thanks @kolektiva@kolektiva.social and crew for setting up this instance 🖤
I really liked your about page text and your approach with open registrations—long may it last! 🤞 Didn't see any donation links - you good without?
Join us for our building week, 7th to 13th August in #Kanthaus, #Wurzen! There'll be tasks and fun for everyone, even without building experience. It's a great moment to get to know the community, too. https://kanthaus.online/en/blog/2023-07-14_bauwoche

🥕 🍅 We invite you to the Kitchen for All - tomorrow at Kanthaus! Let's have a nice evening together with a relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Feel free to come and cook together from 5pm or eat together from 7pm. Also, our free shop will be open longer than usual and invite you to browse. We are looking forward to seeing you! 🥦 🧅
Kanthaus residents advocate strongly for a mobility transformation away from cars. 🚙 ❌
Instead, for individual mobility, we believe the time proven, simple, safe, silent and efficient, good ol' bicycle, should be front and center on how public space is organized and utilized.
One action that we keep maintaining every month with Bitte Wenden Wurzen is the #criticalmass. We hope to be many some day. In the meantime, we show up, even with negative celsius temperatures. 🚲 🥶
Here are October, November and December!

hello world!
At which point does a note become a forum? 🤭 (A slice of life from the hot drink station)
I quite like how scoped paper is: people who do hot drinks don't need to see this message.
How are you dealing with (critical) feedback in your communities? 👀
Second day of our building week and some rooms are already hardly recognizable. We have a few working sites across Kanthaus where people are working in small teams. Coordination and #reproductiveWork (cooking, cleaning, child care…) is also significant, with about 20 people in the house.
