@inquiline I don’t know all the details, but I think this might be an example:

I got this new phone case that has low-profile video game controls on the bottom half, and you can flip it around to play on an emulator and have tactile controls. Not sure about the quality so far, but makes a lot of games that aren’t playable with touchscreen workable. Was just playing Pilotwings for SNES.

@treefifty@mastodon.social might be the kind of thing you could find at the MIT flea market, if you’re ever in the Boston/Cambridge area

Okay, bummer, I misread the email. This was already voted on in the MA house and passed, now it has to go to to the Senate to be reconciled, then the governor to be signed. Not sure how to proceed. There hasn’t been much in my local news about this. Disappointing.

Looks like @fight@mastodon.fightforthefuture.org have some good coverage of this issue here:

They wrote a Boston Globe oped here also (paywalled):

@mitch what i’ve sometimes wished for is a way to set aside say $10/mo, and use that toward articles from sources where I’m not a subscriber. Instead of a prompt to subscribe , you’d see something like “you have $6.50 remaining this month, use 50¢ to read?” If I ran out I could top up, and if I didn’t use it it went to some fund to support independent news sources. I don’t know if this is economically feasible, but I’d feel better saying “I want to support good journalism and know I can’t subscribe to everything” in advance vs making a decision in the moment to spend money.
