@MonaApp@mastodon.social Having purchased the Pro Max merely half a year ago, I’m confronted with another upgrade purchase. And it onlye being a temporary offer as well. It’s a great app, but this is outrageous. For all we know they’ll come scam us for a new version in 3 months again.

Not trying to be snarky here, but what's the expected lifecycle for Mona 7 before Mona 8 is released? When will mona 6 be end-of-service? I take it you have a maintenance responsibility for now, but for how long will it still be supported? 73, Jelle.

@lukasbestle@chaos.social @MonaApp@mastodon.social I'm not sure about the detection part. I've never had access to the backend of the app store. Still, your continued loyalty to the application is valued at the same price (no discount!) as new clients for the app.

@MonaApp@mastodon.social The onetime mona ultra upgrade for €22,99 in the appstore. A non-discounted full price onetime purchase. A ridiculous way to treat loyal customers. I fully understand the whole app movement into subscriptions, but not offering a discount to ease into it, will drive loyal customers away. Already looking into alternatives to avoid the upgrade tax coming in the next 3 or 6 months.

@bert_hubert@mastodon.nl Staatsbedrijf, gewoon weer zelf doen. Prima idee, kan ook prima. Nederland is klein genoeg om een multi-active/active datacenter te bouwen met grote geografische scheiding te doen zonder flink in te boeten op latency. Het kost wat. Maar levert op termijn ook veel op.

And known to be hijacked by its governing board to become a for profit company. Please take a second to read up on that and know that a switch to Forgejo is easy and it’s truly open source and backed by Codeberg.org and Hetzner. Btw, codeberg runs on Forgejo as well.
