site updates:
- created a pure html audio shortcode that can play local and remote files.
- moved the roll to its own page, and added several more adjacent reads.
- inspired by @fractalkitty@mathstodon.xyz et al, might even have added a /caw/ page. 🐦⬛
effervescent haiku by @fractalkitty@mathstodon.xyz, welcoming the season, a moment of brightly colored joy:
listening in delight as a northern mockingbird sings a complex series of soundalikes, a lovely reminder of the slow shift of seasons.

@ashur@front-end.social yes! this is why i write about what i'm doing at the time. not only documenting progress toward solving technical issues, but also working through a creative journey or process. where it began, where it is now, where it might go, its completion. i jot down ideas, prior explorations, decisions, outcomes, plans, and anything deferred to the future. asking "what have i tried?" offers gentle guidance away from getting stuck (again), and also opens up new possibilities. 🌿

@fractalkitty@mathstodon.xyz cutest scritches! highlight of global bird day here was seeing flamingos and crows in the same place, at the same time. 🦩🐦⬛
sometimes creativity can be revived, watered, sprinkled, by working in another area of the garden, adjacent to it. 🪴🌿
it rained at dusk, an unexpected blessing.
this world is meant to be beautiful.
when we care for it, we care for each other.

@ashur@front-end.social i write with textedit and nano/pico, build with hugo, publish with rsync. very basic and minimal. no mobile or remote workflow; everything is local and offline until published. sometimes i’ll jot down a few notes on mobile, or use ulysses for longer sections, as it’s easier to resume writing when stationary.
i’d like an iOS version of textedit for notes and drafts with my post template, syncing to pick up where i left off.

@latte@mastodon.online even without blending, the layering is gorgeous! vibrant colors and details, near and far. the foliage and sky are so good.

@fractalkitty@mathstodon.xyz every day can be wrensday, given how cute they are! every day is a bird day. 🪶
site updates:
- removed unused CSS classes from the top navigation menu.
- added `:active` and `:focus` states to links.
- all links are now underlined. increases visual highlighting, while preserving the site's minimal design.
- also working on a print stylesheet, but this is challenging for edge cases like my mastodon server guide. `break-after: avoid` isn't working for headings.
a crow feather as a gift, a shared memory, a blessing, a healing kindness.
