For those mourning new zealanders looking for a wide range of Sam Neil films try here : https://ondemand.arovideo.co.nz/search.html?q=Sam+neil

Also, this is why I'm on mastodon, so I can whine about things like this confident that almost no one else in the arts is following me (except maybe @exlibrarykris@cloudisland.nz )

Update, all my other board members thought that using Claude to design your front end (with no previous web design experience) was a great idea and that the site we were shown looked good. (With the caveat that it would be nice if it worked for mobiles). Is this the New Zealand reluctance to find fault? A lack of visual literacy? Sheer stupidity? And now one of them is questioning if we should even give design/user testing/ user experience feedback because website builds is operational. 🫠🫠🫠

@jwz@mastodon.social omg that trailer feels so sad. I couldn't even bring myself to sully the altered carbon book with the TV show. guess I'm going to be bringing the same energy to neuromancer

@stephen@ephemera.vital.org.nz oh absolutely the ludic article, so good. Yesterday Ishared it with some web developer friends who are predicting their job will pivot from build me new website, to fix absolute fuck up I did by building with gen ai.

I have 16 hours to work out how to give the feedback throw it all away and start again, it's a vomited up dog's breakfast in a constructive way.

It's been a shit of a week. Monday - fever and terrible sleep Tuesday - resting and terrible sleep Wednesday - morning light work, afternoon yeah-nah Thursday - morning meeting, afternoon fell asleep at 1 and woke at 7 Friday - migraine 7 am - 1 pm Next week better be pleasant, I've earned it.

@ptoothfish@beige.party a parallel thread spans

@rmi@cloudisland.nz @stephen@ephemera.vital.org.nz absolutely. I felt like I was talking over a gulf of understanding and I would rate myself as only tech competent adjacent, which, evidently, in board culture, is more than the others have.

@rmi@cloudisland.nz I had a total huh moment, as I ran the sentence with Henri Lefebvre, notable urbanist in mind.

@eclectech @futurebird Books I've enjoyed from the sans M style that are good entry points for M fans include: The Business, Complicity, The Bridge and Whit

@justanotheramy@aus.social lol, my pharmacy likes to read out my address to me for me to confirm... You can bet I've had words with them about that.

So got up, made eggs and chips, started shivering violently, went back to bed. Dishes are imaginary cohabitant's problem (aka me tomorrow morning)

Ohhh 😔 a character I liked died 😢

It's a shameful admission that I use Google docs for collaboration on projects. However I need to do so to then complain about how Googles background grammar/spelling checker has suddenly decided that Aucklander is not a word. It has offered me the following substitutions Aucklandlander Zealander (the word new is no where near it) Auckland

@duckalini@cloudisland.nz it will warm up just as you go to bed

@exlibrarykris@cloudisland.nz sadly they're using the wellington library website as an example of why their decision to DIY/vibe code it is smart economics

@exlibrarykris@cloudisland.nz events and climate are in same team? Does climate provide forecasting expertise to events? (Or vice versa)

@rmi@cloudisland.nz after further research (aka nattering with my Catholic mum) I have established the apostate heretics hang hang out in the urban environs of Wanganui and ashburton... Lower north island, home of heresy

@rmi@cloudisland.nz oh bollox. I'd been happily assuming my affinity programs were free of that shit.
