A new {option}`programs.devenv` module has been added to Home Manager. devenv is a tool for fast, declarative, reproducible and composable developer environments using Nix. The module provides options to enable devenv and configure shell integration for Bash, Fish, Nushell, and Zsh. To use it, set {option}`programs.devenv.enable` to `true`. Shell integration is enabled by default for installed shells.

A new module is available: 'programs.crush'. Crush is Charm's coding agent for the terminal. The module installs Crush, writes its JSON configuration, and manages Agent Skills. It can also take MCP servers from the shared 'programs.mcp' module.

A new module is available: 'programs.flake-edit', featuring a '.settings' option to generate {file}`$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/flake-edit/config.toml`

Home Manager now loads the Atuin Nushell integration after other shell integrations such as fzf. This restores Atuin's Ctrl-R binding when both programs are enabled. If you previously used `programs.nushell.extraConfig = lib.mkAfter ...` to place custom Nushell configuration after Atuin, use a later order such as `lib.mkOrder 2001 ...` instead.

'programs.rclone' mounts now support a 'mountType' option that can be set to "nfsmount" to mount remotes via rclone's built-in NFS server and the system NFS client instead of FUSE. On macOS this removes the need for macFUSE and its kernel extension (and the Reduced Security boot policy the extension requires). When "nfsmount" is selected, 'nfs-cache-type = "disk"' is added to the mount's options by default so NFS file handles survive rclone restarts.

A new module is available: `programs.hyprland-qt-support`. This module enables Hyprland Qt support — a Qt6 QML style provider for hypr* apps. It can be configured through the `settings` attribute.

The value `gtk` for `qt.platformTheme.name` is no longer rewritten to `gtk2` when setting the `QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME` session variable. It is now emitted as `gtk3`, selecting Qt's built-in GTK platform theme plugin, and no longer installs the `qtstyleplugins` and `qt6gtk2` packages. If you relied on the previous behavior, set `qt.platformTheme.name = "gtk2"` explicitly, which sets `QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2` and installs the `qtstyleplugins` and `qt6gtk2` packages providing that platform theme.

`programs.swayimg.settings` has been replaced with `programs.swayimg.initLua` because upstream moved to a lua config.

The `programs.codex.contextOverride` option was added to manage Codex override context under `CODEX_HOME`.

Home Manager launchd agents now support the `launchd.agents..domain` option. Background services provided by Home Manager use the user launchd domain by default, so they can be managed from SSH and other non-graphical sessions. Set `launchd.agents..domain = "gui"` for agents that need the graphical session.

A new option is available: 'launchd.agents..waitForNixStore'. By default, launchd agents are started through a '/bin/sh' wrapper that waits for the Nix store to be mounted, which makes every agent show up as "sh" in System Settings > Login Items & Extensions. When this option is disabled, the agent is instead started through a launcher script named after the agent, so it is displayed under its own name. Note that disabling it means the agent will fail to start if launchd runs it before the Nix store volume is mounted (e.g. early during login when the store volume is encrypted).

A new module has been added: `programs.zsh.fastSyntaxHighlighting`. This is an alternative implementation of syntax highlighting for Zsh.

A new module is available: `services.nvibrant`. [nvibrant] is used for configuring NVIDIA's "Digital Vibrance" on Wayland. [nvibrant]: https://github.com/tremeschin/nvibrant

The config path for 'senpai' on Darwin now defaults to: ~/Library/Application Support/senpai/senpai.scfg

Home Manager launchd agents now support the `launchd.agents..domain` option. Agents use the GUI launchd domain by default. Set `launchd.agents..domain = "user"` for agents that should run without an active graphical login session.

A new module is available: 'programs.posting'. Posting is an open-source terminal-based API client for developing and testing APIs. The module supports configuration via `programs.posting.settings` and custom themes via `programs.posting.themes`.

`services.podman.settings.registries` now generates `registries.conf` v2 format. The new per-registry option {option}`services.podman.settings.registries.registry` was added. Use entries like `{ location = "registry.example"; insecure = true; }` or `{ location = "registry.example"; blocked = true; }`. Legacy {option}`services.podman.settings.registries.insecure` and {option}`services.podman.settings.registries.block` are still supported but deprecated, and now emit a warning.

The generated plugin that delivers managed MCP and LSP configuration to Claude Code now uses the manifest name `hm` (previously `claude-code-home-manager`). Claude Code derives the MCP tool namespace from the plugin manifest, so this shortens every plugin-loaded MCP tool prefix to `mcp__plugin_hm___`. See [issue #9446](https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/issues/9446). The personal skills directory stays `~/.claude/skills/claude-code-home-manager` unchanged, so it does not collide with user plugins or skills. This is a breaking change. If you allow or deny these tools by name in {file}`/.claude/settings.{, local.}json` or via {option}`programs.claude-code.settings`, update any references from `claude-code-home-manager` to `hm`, for example: ```json { "permissions": { "allow": ["mcp__plugin_hm_github"] } } ```
