Mostly reading, walking, and looking at the sky (and no longer thinking about library budgets.)
In midst of a slow phase of reinvention that comes with retirement.

Never thought I’d be happy to hear mister’s snoring start up next to me.
Everyday is a good day to be thankful, kind, and generous to an immigrant. And maybe think through how many generations you need to go back in your family to find the most recent immigrants. It takes one generation for my partner (prompted by the Suez Crisis) and five generations for me (prompted by the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo). Immigrants are great.
It's wild to watch dozens of nurses, doctors, medical clerks walking around in "mandatory mask" zones without any form of mask. There's a scattering of baggy blues, most not worn correctly. In a day and a half across 3 buildings (it's a warren), I've not spotted anyone else wearing a N95 mask. The sooner we get to discharge the better.
Ouch. All of the librarians working in Nova Scotia's community college system have been laid off -- the result of a very punitive and short sighted provincial budget. It looks like library technicians will hold onto their jobs for the time being but everyone with an MLIS will be gone.
