If your imaging system has poorly characterized constant distortions leading to chromatic aberration, shoddy stitching, or false measurements (the answer is likely yes), you may want to give these tools a try: https://github.com/saalfeldlab/lens-correct
The split-image tool is for lens-arrays or other setups that project somehow different views of the same sample into a single image. Native installers for Linux, Mac, Win under Releases.

If you are using the @EvolutionGnome@floss.social mail client on @ubuntu@ubuntu.social and you are writing e-mails in plain text (as you should to keep simple things simple), you have probably heard people complain to you about forced hard line breaks that look stupid on cell phones. There is no setting in the client to switch that off, but you can
gsettings set org.gnome.evolution.mail composer-word-wrap-length -1
to soft-wrap. Whenever you open the settings dialog again, it will reset to 31 of all things, so don't...

@kristinmbranson@social.coop @steveroyle@biologists.social I ❤ Zotero with browser ext to import from where you found the paper, including the more obscure conference dumps for CV or ML. It auto-downloads the paper and you can nicely annotate it in Zotero. Everything local with cloud sync, so working offline is fine. Overleaf and GoogleDocs integration are excellent, including shared libraries with coauthors. Bib exports are a bit baroque (who wants ISSNs?), so we switched from natbib to Biblatex (with Bibtex, not Biber).
