Het triggert (getuige dit draadje) zonder zaken uit z'n verband te rukken. De discussie ging over de aanvaringen in de Kamer tussen fascistisch-rechts en de rest, waarbij De Vos feitelijk een lans brak voor een blanke etnostaat. En dat was natuurlijk een mooi bruggetje naar het volgende onderwerp: voetbal (daar ben ik afgehaakt overigens, ik heb niks met voetbal). Gullit is geboren en getogen in Nederland, een "echte Nederlander" dus, maar wordt door De Vos feitelijk als ongewenst bestempeld omdat hij een kleurtje heeft. De vraag van Pauw wat hij daarvan vond, was echt heel veel relevanter dan Eikelboom suggereerde 😉 Ik heb een kennis van me die in een rechts-extremistische bubbel leeft, aangeraden de uitzending te bekijken. Er worden veel problemen aangekaart die ik hem al vaak heb voorgehouden, waaronder het doen van ongefundeerde beweringen en het weigeren om daarna in te gaan op reacties. Ik verwacht niet dat hij mijn advies volgt, overigens, hij kijkt niet veel meer dan Ongehoord Nederland en papagaait vooral na wat hij daar aan leugens gevoerd krijgt... 😔

Die is natuurlijk al vele jaren bezig, maar daar hebben we als gewone burgers tot nu toe nog niet veel van gemerkt. En daarna zou er idd best een moment kunnen komen waarop we weer net zo bang worden voor een atoombom als in de jaren '80. Ik hoop het niet, dat zijn namelijk nog steeds heel verse herinneringen in mijn hoofd...

@@verymetalsite@mastodon.social Zeker, Europa is een stuk groter dan de VS en Rusland, maar het grote nadeel dat we hebben, is dat we uit 27 zelfstandige staten bestaan en dus over elk gemeenschappelijk besluit eindeloos moeten vergaderen om tot consensus te komen. Dat werkt heel fijn in rustige tijden, maar zoals de Romeinen al doorhadden: niet in tijden van crisis, als er snel geschakeld moet worden. We weten inmiddels dat het aanstellen van een tijdelijke dictator niet werkt, dat ontaardt altijd in een "dictator perpetuo", iets wat ik in de VS ook verwacht met de oranje holbewoner. Een kennis van me haalt vrijwel al zijn nieuws van Facebook, aangevuld met Ongehoord Nederland. Ter vergelijking, dat is ongeveer wat Fox News in Amerika is... Hij papagaaide eerder deze week ineens het Kremlin na, door bij onde Dodenherdenking van 4 mei te claimen dat het westen het aandeel van Rusland in de overwinning op de nazi's niet kent, of op z'n minst niet erkent. Dat is Kremlin-propaganda, die door Thierry Baudet in Nederland wordt verspreid. Baudet is de grote man achter Forum voor Democratie, de spreekbuis van Poetin in Nederland, en hij is vaste gast in programma's van Ongehoord Nederland. Je zou denken dat mensen daar doorheen prikken, maar nee dus. Genoeg mensen slikken zulke kletspraat voor zoete koek, en bekijken vervolgens de wereld door een bril met grote oogkleppen. Het is veel makkelijker om uit te gaan van wat iemand die je mag beweert, dan om zelf op zoek te gaan en verschillende standpunten tegen elkaar af te wegen. Of om zelfs maar verschillende nieuwsbronnen te raadplegen over het zelfde onderwerp... Ik kreeg het verwijt dat ik Rusland alleen maar als slecht zie, zonder nuance. Op mijn vraag hoe hij daarbij kwam, moet ik nog altijd antwoord krijgen. Vergeet niet dat zowel Poetin als Agent Orange hier in Europa onrust proberen te stoken en polarisatie aan te wakkeren. Dat heeft effect, zien we. Ik zie de toekomst van Europa somber in als we ons daar niet tegen teweer gaan stellen. Bijvoorbeeld door nu eens heel hard en duidelijk naar Amerika te roepen dat ze zich niet met Europese politiek moeten bemoeien. Merz deed vorige week zoiets, maar dat was informeel. Wellicht wordt het tijd dat Von Der Leyen eens een officiëel statement gaat maken.

And yes, that's going to have (no: is already having) a big impact on the volume and quality of code that is added: it will seriously impact how code is managed. Setting certain basic rules isn't a Bad Thing™ per se, but banning AI altogether seems wrong, a knee-jerk reaction to a (perceived?) threat. @xs4me2 I saw the first 2 episodes of that, and wasn't sure what to do: finish the entire series and then read the book, or quit now, read the book first and see the series after that 😂 Still haven't decided 🤷 When Peter Jackson announced he was going to make the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I ran to the book store, bought and devoured the book and couldn't wait for the films to be released.

We speak "klare taal" ("clear language"), because we have learned over the centuries that if you want to get something done with lots of different people and different opinions, you better make sure everybody understands everybody's positions. It may come off as arrogant or rude, when it usually is only "efficient" communication 🤷 Speaking the truth can appear arrogant, but there was nothing arrogant in Stux' post, at least not by Dutch cultural standards. This way the cans are returned and recycled, as they should, and someone who's willing to do the work can earn a bit of extra money too. @stux⚡️

I can share my location in Matrix, I assume that works pretty much like Signal. AFAIK it's the client who downloads the relevant tile(s) to display the coordinates. The tile server shouldn't see the combination of user/device and location. But I may be wrong here... 🤷
