@cstross@wandering.shop The total amnesia regarding the dot com bubble is what amazes me the most about the whole thing. I don't understand what investor is content with throwing billions into the obvious pit.

@themself@mastodon.scot @cstross@wandering.shop My Y2K story is that I (as a 10 year old) had become really terrified of it for some reason, to the extent that to reassure me my mum brought home a confidential government email for me to see saying they were pretty confident nothing would go wrong in the UK. 😆

@Mair@lethallava.land I would love to have a wee Tesco just around the corner. Best I have is a Scotmid about 5 minutes away...
Spotted yesterday in Brighton (I didn't have time to visit, unfortunately)...
#Cinema time, 28 Days Later! "Hah, a lethal pandemic suddenly sweeping the nation, what a crazy concept." - someone in 2002 probably.
May the year of 2024 bring you all many chips!
#Cinema time, The Crow (30th Anniversary showing)! If I couldn't be a gull, I'd be a crow. They're almost as cool.
I have spent the weekend largely not doing much, and it has been fantastic.
It was not the film! It was actually the first four episodes of the original TV series, even more fun. Starscream is an idiot.
In my humble but expert opinion, still the greatest fish and chips that money can buy.
#Cinema time, Migration! Birb movie birbmovie birbmovie! *vibrates*
#Cinema time, The Boy and the Heron! Yes, a third viewing for this film, my first since Everything Everywhere, I think. I love it to bits, but they're also -finally- showing it in my local, so gotta see it here for the chance it encourages them to show more anime...
@renwillis@mstdn.social DS9 needed the Bashir/Garak romance, the TV execs who shot it down are philistines.
#Cinema time, Jurassic Park (30th anniversary)! For a bird, this is basically like going to see the great-grandparents.
I am within London! Much excitement, my first time outside Scotland post-Covid. Just a day trip for a conference but still been fun making long journeys again.
Making homemade #chapattis is extremely satisfying.
#Cinema time, The Bride! Love a monstrous romance.
