We're excited to be offering our first "Intro to Guix" class! We'll cover the basics of how Guix works, installing, managing packages, configuring your system, Guix Home, writing packages, and more over a total of 3-4 hours live instruction and exercises. We'd love to have a few more people for this first small class, at a special rate. We'll be running it sometime in the next week or so, so please get in touch if you are interested with your timezone and availability! #guix

A small infra update at Guixotic: we've migrated our website to a new Hetzner machine provisioned with 'guix deploy' and published its config at https://codeberg.org/guixotic/configs/src/branch/main/machines/main.scm. It's pretty nice that a fully declarative Guix System machine can be created from scratch in roughly 10 minutes!
Guixotic is officially open for business! We wrote about forming an international cooperative and what we've been up to during our first few months: https://guixotic.coop/blog/2025/define-guixotic.html
Hello fediverse!
Feed readers and Guix lovers, there's a new Planet Guix aggregator which you might want to bookmark/subscribe to: https://planet.guix.gnu.org/ Thanks to @ray1729@social.linux.pizza for putting it together!
A small recap of some of the fun we had during the FSF40 Hackathon, which happened last weekend: https://guixotic.coop/blog/2025/fsf40-hackathon.html. We had more than 10 participants hacking on different topics that led to various pull requests on the Guix repository 🙂 Thanks to everyone who joined, including @tusharhero@mathstodon.xyz !

@sharlatan@mastodon.social Sorry, no page on our website just yet, but we'll have one going forward! This first class we're squeezing in this weekend, but looking to run it again in probably a month or so.
Psst! The FSF40 Hackathon is happening in less than one hour (10:00 EST / 15:00 UTC), and Guixotic is participating! You can PM apteryx on libera.chat if you'd like to join the fun.

@lutindiscret@mastodon.libre-entreprise.com Thank you! We've updated our website (in the footer) with our company's legal registration location, which is Estonia. Our members are currently located in Japan and USA.

@lgatto@fediscience.org We're squeezing in this first run this weekend (one of us will be traveling right after), but we do want to go again in a month or so. Feel free to let us know if you want to be notified with some more lead time for the next one, too.

@lgatto@fediscience.org I'm tentatively timing at Saturday at 2:30 or 3pm Eastern US (UTC-4) and
Sunday maybe 12:30 or 1pm; depending on schedules and how things go what the split will be on times. I know Saturday will be on the later side for you, so we could make that the shorter one. Otherwise we'll be sure to announce and reach out for our next offerings!

@lgatto@fediscience.org We're doing a reduced rate for this first run through, at 200eur. We'll make sure we get all that info on a webpage going forward!

@lgatto@fediscience.org Great, happy to have you! Total running time will be about 3-4 hours (might be a bit more freeform with a small group). If you could send an email to contact@guixotic.coop we'll handle the details through email.

@harish@hachyderm.io This first run of the course will be this weekend, feel free to email us if you'd like to be notified of the next run (hopefully in about a month or so, with more lead time!) Availability will always be tricky with time zones and schedules, we'll have to figure out how to schedule these
