Just a tech guy hoping to help accelerate the world to sustainable energy and bridge some echo chambers in the meantime.

@caseyliss @jaytorres Ahh yes, Tesla should've made a family car instead of the CT. It would have been a complete game-changer and become the best-selling car in the world. Oh wait: EVs ranked by total unit sold in the U.S. in Q1 2026. 1) Tesla Model Y: 78,591 2) Tesla Model 3: 31,672 3) Toyota bZ: 10,029 4) Hyundai Ioniq 5: 9,790 5) Chevrolet Equinox EV: 9,589 6) Rivian R1S: 5,494 7) Ford Mustang Mach-E: 4,600 8) Lexus RZ: 4,456 9) Tesla Cybertruck: 3,519 10) Cadillac Lyriq: 3,370

@caseyliss @jaytorres And btw, Tesla *IS* making a bigger family car. Not just the new longer Model Y L 6-seater, which was already launched in Asia and Australia and is a huge hit there, but a true 3-row SUV as well. In the meantime, Model Y is the best-selling car in the world (again - it swapped places with the RAV4 briefly), CT is the best-selling EV pickup, and the new lower-cost AWD Cybertruck is sold out until Spring 2027. So I'm not sure Elon's "fragile ego" is the problem here.

@caseyliss @javbw "A Bolt", he says: Bolt FWD: 120 MPGe, 3,777lbs Model Y RWD: 138 MPGe, 4,061lbs Model 3 RWD: 139 MPGe, 3,759lbs Bad engineering = poor efficiency despite weight.

@markgrambau @caseyliss You should teach your daughter that despite its angles, CT is actually FAR more aerodynamic than America's best-selling vehicle, the Ford F-150 (and Lightning). Ford F-150 ICE: 0.41 - 0.46 Cd Ford F-150 Lightning: 0.43-0.44 Cd Tesla Cybertruck: 0.34-0.38 Cd It also gets 79 MPGe, far more energy efficient than a Prius despite weighing twice as much and having a 6-foot bed. Amazing engineering! Facts your daughter may appreciate. Be a good dad and share them with her!

@javbw @caseyliss Idiotic comparison. Hummer H2: gas guzzler, 11MPG, dino technology, tows only 6k lbs, no bed, 0-60 in 8 seconds (lol), high rollover risk Tesla CT: pure electric zero emissions, 80MPGe, can drive itself anywhere, 48v/800V, steer-by-wire, tows 11k lbs, pickup truck with 6 foot bed, 0-60 in 2.6s, safest pickup truck ever tested Hummer H2 was for Earth-hating idiots. Cybertruck is for smart consumers who love cool tech, fun, and who value their family's safety.

@caseyliss @javbw FACT: The Cybertruck, despite having a very practical 6-foot locked bed, is more energy efficient than BOTH of your vehicles! It gets 79MPGe, vs Volvo XC90 ~58MPGe and your VW Golf R's brutal ~24mpg Don't be such a hypocrite. And when I mentioned "safety" i was referring to the fact that it's the safest pickup ever tested by both NHTSA and IIHS. Lowest injury probability + lowest rollover risk + 5-star overall + IIHS Top Safety Pick+ (the ONLY pickup to achieve this in 2026)!

@caseyliss You missed the point entirely. We daily drive Model Y's and was showing you that the RWD version is even more efficient than the Bolt despite its heavier weight. You said "3 and nothing bigger", excluding/dismissing the better option for families and also the world's best-selling vehicle of any kind.

@caseyliss That is correct. But it's not my one and only metric. Nor should it be anyones. When you consider safety, cost, efficiency, technology, cost-of-ownership, and especially autonomy, NOTHING comes close to a Model 3 or Y. Nothing. Like you, I love to drive. Yet my Teslas do >80% of my driving for me. And on many trips they do literally 100%. No exaggeration. Garage to parking lot and back, 100% FSD. I have yet to have a single safety intervention on HW4. FSD v14.x on HW4 is INCREDIBLE!

@caseyliss And if MPGe *was* the one and only metric people considered, it would be selling more than 920 units a quarter 😝 EVs sold in U.S. Q1 2026 (Cox Auto) 1) Tesla Model Y: 78,591 2) Tesla Model 3: 31,672 3) Toyota bZ: 10,029 4) Hyundai Ioniq 5: 9,790 5) Chevrolet Equinox EV: 9,589 6) Rivian R1S: 5,494 7) Ford Mustang Mach-E: 4,600 8) Lexus RZ: 4,456 9) Tesla Cybertruck: 3,519 10) Cadillac Lyriq: 3,370 11) Honda Prologue: 3,319 12) Rivian EDV: 3,213 [...] 31) Lucid Air: 920

@caseyliss This says it all. They're giddy about flicking off another Cybertruck and call it a symbol of hate while hating everyone that drives one. How immature and so FULL of hatred. My family LOVES our Cybertruck, and not because its some status symbol. That's the WRONG reason to buy anything. And we laugh when others flick us off because they look like crazy people doing it. But I'll ask my wife and 4-year old if they think our lineage continues in spite of our personality, lol.

@ismh86@eworld.social Genius move by both parties! Anthropic gets their much-needed compute, but more importantly, will benefit enormously from the orbital AI datacenter collaboration w/ SpaceX, where water and power won’t be a problem. Chamath P nailed it, & Elon pivoted despite his previous concerns with Dario. He met with the team and was assured that their intentions for humanity are good. Wonder how much of it is Musk going nuclear on Sam and Greg over the stolen charity known as OpenAI.

@ismh86@eworld.social Public sentiment for AI data centers is tanking globally, with nearly half opposed and dozens of major projects blocked or stalled. Starship and SpaceXAI to the rescue! They’ll make orbital data centers not just feasible but the most financially advantageous—powered by unlimited solar energy—with the majority of Musk’s AI infrastructure shifting to space. Such an exciting time to be alive !

@ismh86@eworld.social now that NVIDIA, Anthropic, and Google are all on board with SpaceXAI on space-based AI datacenters, are you still so skeptical? Be careful, you may be eating your words in just a few short years. EDS is very strong in these necks of the woods.
