@jayrosen_nyu@mastodon.social I've been seeing this with some posts. Got more reaction to some here on Mastodon with 2K followers than I did on Twitter with 52K followers. I think it's partly the way surges work on newish social networks - folks are more ready to interact. Will be interesting to see if it continues over time.

@dancingtreefrog Also fwiw, I'm not quite sure whom you're referring to as "nasty people," but the nuclear block function over there is FANTASTIC for cleaning up your timeline! Best blocking tool I've ever used on social media. Blocklists are also helpful!
