@vapourisation@tech.lgbt i recently jad similar issues like the ones you described and checked the fluxes. my old solder tin had 3.5% and works smoothly all the time, the newer tins have less (2%, 2.5%) and don't work as well... so maybe that's it?

i guess there's quite a bunch of people just one or two #tutorials away from tinkering with the #hurd. especially now, that we can craft GNU/Hurd systems at ease with #guix it shouldn't be too hard to get into that field of magic

@vapourisation@tech.lgbt but it could also be the shape of the tip of your iron. if that doesn't nicely touch the place heat will not really flow....

@shepherd@fosstodon.org @cwebber@social.coop ah, so you suggest including the sources of BLUE instead of using it as a (package) dependency?

@theesm@social.tchncs.de have you considered joining the embedded team and maybe tackling the remaining issues as a milestone?
re non-upstreamable parts: IIRC raspis don't boot w/o proper firmware blobs but still there's raspi u-boots mainlined in guix proper. maybe there's a way to mainline as much as possible and contain the rest in nonguix simultaneously?
