Saif has been released from israeli captivity and after 6 brutal days, his message is clear - we must continue to mobilize!

Still, thousands of Palestinian prisoners are being held hostage in israeli dungeons, subjected to inhumane conditions. We are one small step closer to a free Palestine but our fight is far from over. We must continue to push against empire on all fronts!

After 30 days of captivity, all of the Sirte 10 have finally been released.

Four arrived safely last night in Tunis, and the remaining six arrived in Istanbul this afternoon. They are:

When they intercepted our vessels last week, and brutalised us, physically and sexually, the israeli army showed the lengths they are prepared to go to in order to block humanitarian aid to Gaza.

We don’t know what they will do next. We sail because the risk of not sailing, of normalizing genocide, is too great.

Witness is protection. We need all eyes on the Flotilla now and over the coming days as we sail towards Gaza.

israel just committed a crime in European waters. It defies all morality—and respect for international law—that just days from now, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) will welcome the perpetrator to whitewash its crimes before 50% of the European population.

Governments have a duty to protect their citizens. Inarguably, governments also have a collective obligation under international law to do everything in their power to protect people everywhere, and anywhere, from genocide.

This includes isolating perpetrators of war crimes at the cultural level and refusing participation in propagandistic efforts to scrub the face of genocide clean. Russia was banned from Eurovision over its invasion of Ukraine—a crime exceeded by the pariah state of israel many times over in scope, and in cruelty. The lack of moral consistency is glaring.

Fans, participants and broadcasters have a duty to act.

After 30 days of illegal detention in Libya, we’ve received confirmation that all 10 volunteers kidnapped from our humanitarian convoy are in the process of being released.

We urge everyone to keep the pressure on until every one of them is safely home with their loved ones.

Four have just arrived to Tunis: Achraf Khoja (Tunisia), Domenico Centrone (Italy, Leonarda Alberizia (Italy) and Matias Rodriguez (Uruguay). The remaining are expected to be released over the next 24 hours.

As we welcome this news, we also remember: the nearly 10,000 Palestinian political prisoners, our four detained Tunisian organizers, and the tens of thousands held unjustly in detentions centers around the world.

No one is free until all of us are free.

Their words are the anchor of this mission: the reality on the ground, the people living it and the refusal to let Gaza be reduced to headlines.

After Australian flotilla participants gave testimony about the physical and sexual abuse they endured at the hands of israeli forces, Australia’s Foreign Minister called for an AFP investigation.

The israeli ambassador dismissed that investigation as a “waste of time.” The embassy went further, calling the allegations “disrespectful to genuine victims of sexual assault and rape.”

This is victim-blaming.
This is an attack on survivors.

Australia cannot host an ambassador who mocks survivors, undermines an investigation, and shields perpetrators from accountability.

We demand:
1. Full cooperation with the AFP investigation
2. The immediate release of all CCTV, body-cam, and detention footage
3. The expulsion of the israeli ambassador from Australia

RELEASE THIAGO AND SAIF NOW!

We demand that all governments do all they can to pressure the Israeli regime to release all the illegal abductees. The remaining captive participants were released in Crete except Thiago and Saif.

Saif Abukeshek and Thiago de Avila were seized at sea on a humanitarian mission to Gaza—over 1,000km away, in Greek waters. They are being held in an israeli prison.

The detention of Palestinians is at the heart of israel’s colonial domination and an integral part of the ongoing genocide.
10,000+ Palestinians imprisoned, more than double since October 2023.
3,500+ without charge and on indefinite detention. 450 women and children.
We know how israel treats political prisoners through the report of detainees Dr Hussam Abu Safiya and Marwan Barghouti.
Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, has been held without charge, tortured and denied medical attention for more than 450 days.

Marwan Barghouti, a former elected member of the Palestinian Authority, has been in prison for 22 years. Brutally assaulted and often held in solitary confinement, he has been denied visits from his family since October 2023.

After intercepting our boats on the high seas, the occupier forcibly transferred participants to Crete, brutalising and beating them along the way. All were released except two: Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila, who were taken on an Israeli military vessel to occupied Palestine, where they remain in custody.

Given Israel’s record of torture, we fear for their safety. Both Saif and Thiago are on hunger strike in protest of their illegal abduction and torture.

Their court hearing will take place on Sunday morning.

Global Sumud Flotilla participants have just survived 40 hours of calculated cruelty aboard an iOF navy vessel in Greek waters.

They were denied adequate food and water. They were forced to sleep on floors that were deliberately and repeatedly flooded.

When the military moved to abduct two participants, Saif Abukeshek (Spain / Palestinian origins) and Thiago Ávila (Brazil), our crew peacefully resisted and the response was sheer violence.

Participants were punched, kicked, and dragged across the deck with their hands bound behind their backs. They suffered broken noses, cracked ribs and bloody beatings. Shots were even fired at them in the chaos.

The nightmare isn't over. Greek police are now trapping our battered crew on buses, denying them the freedom to leave while Saif and Thiago have been abducted and taken back to Occupied Palestine.

Our participants remain unbroken: 60 participants have immediately launched a hunger strike.
